>>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

That would be a pleasant surprise! (Maybe the RITProf luxury suite, bar, and microbrewery got put in the plans after all!)
How did you find out that the RITProf luxury suite is on the list under consideration? You must have a mole on the committee!

Looks like I'm flying in that Thursday morning!

The Colgate thread reports that they are playing RIT on Thursday 10/10 (start of Brick City weekend) - weird to see a thursday night game...

Schedule update due to Army's being released.

2/1 (Saturday) vs Holy Cross

So based off this and the HC and Army schedule, I'm sure some mathematician could forecast the Tigers schedule before it's officially released.

I'm not that mathematician!

Need a few more first I think. I have a running schedule in my signature.

There isn't enough information. Granted, you could probably eliminate dates from contention, especially when you take your team's non-conference games into account, but open weekends provide too much of a wild card.

I've been watching reruns of Numb3rs lately, I'm sure there's some theory or formula for this. Maybe with one more western pod schedule, preferably RIT's, I could do it :D

I don't know, might be tough with RIT's schedule...

You'd need two western pod schedules in order to have a really good shot. Unless you'd be OK with writing "league game", and then you could get your other NC games.

BTW, noticed that Parker Gahagen of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres committed to Army. Keep an eye out for him, I saw him play a few times in front of a very good team that they had last year and he looked very impressive...

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

To me this is a game changer for next season. Niagara is a good team, but I do not think they get the atlarge bid with out Chubak in nets last year...
That may be true for them, but when it comes to the RIT-NU "rivalry", it may not change a thing. The Tigers found ways to lose to the Eagles with Chubak and they found ways to lose to them before Chubak got there. They've shown no indication that they have the key to beating that team whether he's there or not.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Doubt it. Noonan did a fine just shutting us down the year before, and Niagara has owned us for longer than Chubak has even been in school.

Do we have any theories as to what the hell has caused our inability to win? Is it their coaching style? Is it .... I don't even know what to suggest. What is it??

Confirmation bias. The results are bad, but perhaps not really as bad as we all like to think.

I have a family member who just graduated from Niagara (didn't say I was proud), and after four years there he still says to me things like ... "I don't understand why it's so hard for us to beat RIT, we beat everyone else." Really!

Sometimes a team just has your number. Even the larger schools have some teams that they always seem to beat, and then some where they just cannot get the job done against (RPI/Michigan, Yale/UND). Sometimes the day could even have some sort of stipulation (Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving for the longest time, Mich Tech during Winter Carnival).

Eventually, there will be a regression to the mean, but I can understand the frustration.
