>>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

I really doubt this RIT team could have done any better than Canisius or Niagara did in the tournament. They both played well, and outside of ~10 minutes where they weren't on their game, they came close to winning.

So far, as AF has done in the past Canisius is the only team that Quinnipiac (#1 seed) has not held the lead for the entire game in the tournament. Makes you wonder what could have been again this year.

Q-Pac has hockey cheerleaders?!? Awesome.

St. Cloud has cheerleaders & dance line at their home hockey games. They are a nice distraction when the game isn't going so well ;)

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Aah ... I remember fondly(?) the days of RIT "cheerleaders on ice"!

And ... congratulations to Coach Wilson on having his son join him in the ranks of NCAA hockey champions. I wonder how many father-son pairs can say that?

Time to begin piecing together a schedule. Here is what I have so far.

10/12 (Saturday) vs Michigan - Blue Cross Arena, Brick City Homecoming
12/14 (Saturday) vs Niagara - Frontier Field
1/31 (Friday) vs Holy Cross
2/1 (Saturday) vs Holy Cross

I wonder if they're doing to have the women's team play before the men again this year at BCA. I honestly hope not, it was obnoxiously hard to find seats even 90 minutes before the game since a lot more people just remained from the previous game.

You could simply attend the women's game too. I think they might appreciate the support. Or you could just **** and moan about not being able to get seats because how dare the women's team think they should get to play on a big stage like the men.

I'd rather pregame the men's game across the street and eat some delicious Rochester BBQ. That's kind of been my tradition over the last 5 years and it's been a good way to meet up with all my old buddies who I haven't seen since the previous BCA game. Not to say that I would normally not support the womens team, but when I get to Rochester 3 days out of the year I have higher priorities.

IMO, it had little to do with the game beforehand but everything to do with folks deciding to lay T-shirts over seats and telling other folks looking for a seat that the empty seats with the T-shirts on them were already taken. Nothing like being an RIT Fan and having other RIT fans tell you that since they got there first they will be holding as many seats as they can for their friends that will be getting there after you have gotten there. I am not sure that's what RIT's administration was looking for when selling Brick City to alumni, friends and families. Like RITProf I think reserved seating for this event should be part of the equation.

Some of us don't have 6 or 7 hours at a time to kill like you obviously do. It is kind of unfair that those of us with other obligations are forced to scrounge for seats in the very back of the place because we're not available to show up 4 hours early. I have no problem with both teams playing there that day, but they easily could do what the Frozen Four used to do (and still should, IMHO) and kick everyone out after the Women's game and re-enter with another ticket for the Men's game. If they're separated by a bit more time (1 to 2 hours), folks at the early game can go out and get themselves a real dinner and or drinks before the night game.

I would like to add that those that leave have to take EVERYTHING with them so that they cannot reserve seats.

I think it's great for the women to get a chance to play at BCA. But having 2 or 3 people saving seats for 8 people is terrible. It's bad enough (and that should change with the new arena) that to find a seat at the Ritter you have to show up an hour early unless classes are out or the team is losing.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Maybe we should actually take this issue to the administration in some sort of actual medium? It couldn't hurt to ask for reserved seating and only say 1-2 sections of GA for corner crew.

I wasn't comment about how to solve the seating issue, I was commenting on Img6481's "hope" that there is not a women's game before the men's game and how I think that is crap. Hence the

There weren't that many people at the women's game, so that wasn't the problem.

Also, I left after the women's game, got food all the way up on Main, got back and still got good seats.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

People correctly interpreted that as my distastes for all the people who stayed behind/got there super early and laid blankets across rows of seats at a time. If they kick everyone out before the mens game, and say don't open doors until ~45minutes before puck drop, or go to a mostly reserved seat style for the game, then this problem is averted. Otherwise, I don't see why the Womens BCA game can't be Friday night, especially since there isn't a comedian anymore.

I've been periodically checking the construction camera for the Polisseni center. Not a whole lot of activity since they finished driving pilings. Any scuttlebutt as to when that site might get a see a little more signs of progress?
