Fingers crossed that we avoid a trip to Niagara. No matter how good we are, we can't get it done there...

Last night coach said that 2 weeks ago, Garbowsky had the cast removed and was told 4 weeks until he can play again. I wouldn't expect to see him in the lineup vs Canisius.

Even if he could play, I might consider sitting him out against Canisius in the regular season finale since they could play them in the first round. Why give the Grifs a look at what RIT would do with him in the lineup in a game for positioning.

I think you want Garbowsky in as soon as possible. To me, it's all about the momentum. Why wait? Get Matt in the lineup, get him to motivate the team a bit more (he is captain), get him used to the speed of play again - then he'll be tuned in for the playoffs. Just sayin ......

I would do it only if he is 100%. I certainly see the argument of speed of play. IF RIT is going to do anything in the playoffs, his return could be a great spark ala Willis Reed (for you youngsters, look it up). I contend if the team puts the kind of effort out on Saturday every night, they will be a tough out in the playoffs.

Definitely this. He's going to be rusty and likely not in great shape, you need to get him as much conditioning as you can. Even though he's very talented, he hasn't played hockey in months...it's going to take him time to get back up to form.

That being said, I doubt he'll be ready by this weekend. Sure would be a nice surprise for the final game at Ritter, though.

Schedule details from the radio crew:

28 league games next year (vs 27 this year). 6 non-conference games (vs 7 this year).
Each team plays eight other teams thrice, the remaining two teams twice. Those teams have already been determined by lottery.

RIT's 6 non-conference games for 2014-15:
* Boston College at BCA
* St. Lawrence / Clarkson at Polisseni (not sure which will be Friday opponent; they're also visiting Niagara)
* at Yale
* at Mariucci Classic with Minnesota, UMass Lowell, and Merrimack

Well we got a pretty tough out of conference schedule next year. BC and maybe Minnesota on their home ice next year should be interesting.

BC in the BCA, that will be an awesome game. A thrashing, but an awesome game!

Yeah, I thought that was confusing too. I guess he's just grown tired of nursing them along after so many losses. Frankly, I would have thought we would have heard these comments from him much earlier in the season. Didn't we all grow tired of losing a long time ago?
Actually, I remember a time when Coach Wilson's post-game comments were usually pretty pointed... and that was with a very good team. I think it was his very first season (and maybe the second, too) that he repeatedly expressed his frustration (anger) with the multitude of dumb penalties RIT would take. He complained about that multiple times that I can remember, yet the players never seemed to get the message. Even into the first year of D-I play, they were quite dumb-penalty-prone. After a while, it seemed like he worked on keeping his post-game comments less negative and at least trying to pull positives out of losses, not just the wins. There have been exceptions, however. There have been a couple games that he knew that nobody was going to buy an attempt at painting a rosy picture and his frustration was too much to contain. Friday was obviously one of those nights.

The way they've played the last couple years, ANY non-conference schedule would be pretty tough.

Considering how we were playing going into this series, a split at Air Force has to be considered a huge success.
Any time RIT can get out of Colorado Springs with two or more points can be considered a successful trip. So this season, it must be downright exhilarating.
Kudos!
