I find it hard to believe, after half a year of not playing (prior to that being benched down the stretch) he's going to get a pro deal anywhere.

He left Monday for a tryout with Knoxville - I hope he gets it!

From what we've all seen of Watson, I don't think anyone here would actually say he is going to succeed at the professional level. He has extremely exploitable weaknesses in his game and was nothing more than a mediocre college goalie.

Totally agree here. There will be some chances for players to earn some spots. The defensive corps should be on high alert because aside becasue to me spots 4-6 are certainly up for grabs.

Let's hope Ruby is ready to be the full time starter, and coach doesn't rotate thru all of them early in the year. Let him settle in early and let him play.

Fun game to watch (after the first). Despite the outcome, I'm feeling pretty optimistic for the season after what I saw. That power play does need to step it up somehow.

Tonight's game was a real downer, it didn't feel like RIT was in it until the last period. Wilson said in the post game show that the 2nd and 3rd were the good periods, but I thought the second was pretty weak play still.

You could see the rust on the team in the first period with lots of mistakes. They better get it together on Thursday cause Saturday is going to be the toughest game until February.

Well considering RIT outshot them like 23-5 in the second period, I would have to agree with WW's assessment. I didn't feel as though RIT dominated in the 2nd, but they were clearly playing like the better team. In the third, RIT was dominating. Most nights if you put up 52 shots and only give up 2 goals..you're going to win.

I think it was a decent start - it's better to face adversity in the exhibition than play all your goalies and win by a huge margin like we have in recent history. This will get their blood flowing and their will to win up. Thursday will be a big game, and Saturday will be, well..huge.

I don't think we can measure the team by how we fare against Michigan, though..

It's disappointing to come away with the first loss in an exhibition since 08-09 against the US 18 and under team. The first period was a defensive disaster. Too many bad turnovers and I thought Queens dominated play after RIT got the first goal. The defense tightened up after that big time. They didn't allow a shot on goal in that major penalty. I didn't think that Queens only had a handful of good chances after that first period.

Offensively, I thought RIT was snake bit. Their goalie made a lot of key saves, including some real good ones to keep the Tigers off the board after that first goal. That the Tigers got that shot total says something about that. I'll take getting that kind of shot total every game because there won't be very many games where the goalie can keep the offense to 1 goal.

It will be interesting to see what shakes out of the Colgate-Michigan weekend. Hopefully RIT will be able to get a point or two out of the series
