I saw it on facebook this morning? That seems like ample time ahead. Then again, it's also assuming everyone you want to reach out to is on social media.

They really are terrible at letting people know about these things. Or letting people who let people know know about these things.

And local.

To be helpful ...

Here's the link with the advertisement of the signing event from the corner crew fb page (I saw their tweet).

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151766559729067&l=a86cd59c75

The first I heard of it was the tweet from the cc yesterday morning, I later received two emails yesterday afternoon. IIRC one was a general blast to the RIT community and one was an email to donors etc.

I agree it's late for an event like this, but I would also imagine the timing of the placement of the final beam was not something that could be scheduled too far in advance (at least not without increasing the costs significantly.

Note also that the event is outside the Ritter lower entrance, not at the Polisseni. They are also announcing the "Power Pour" for spring, another event to be determined by weather.

It doesn't look like RIT will get that chance against a ranked opponent based on St. Lawence's results this past weekend. I think the bigger hope is that Ohio State took some starch out of Canisius to make it easier for RIT to win.

Playing 3 games in 5 days is a pretty tough task for teams accustomed to 2 per 7.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

I'd rather just see RIT play a good road game and earn a victory on Tuesday. Last year there was really no one that RIT played that made you feel they were in another league and RIT had no chance. Really even as complete and good as Niagara was I felt RIT could win any game and indeed all games where close. This year I feel RIT is even closer as Niagara is not as talented as last season, I think Air Force is more talented than last season but not as talented as Niagara was...

So long story short, if this team plays 60 minutes of hockey, limits it's mistakes then the wins will start piling up and they will be at the top of the league. That is what is so frustrating is that I truly believe that most of the Tigers woes the last season to now has self inflicted... There is the talent, just do it...

Wonder who will be in net tonight for Canisius. Capobianco numbers are inflated and Keegan Asmundson has some decent number so far this year. Asmundson, such interesting names at Canisius, they already let go a play by play guy because he could not pronounce Caponbianco (there might have been a few other issues). Keeping the pressure on, but seems like the type of name that the crew could have fun with...

I would go with Capobianco (sp?) if I were Canisius.

I'm wondering if because RIT has a 3 game week whether we see Rotolo or MacLean in net against St. Lawrence for one of the games.

It can't hurt. We're not getting into the NCAAs based on OOC record this year..

Boy this team is frustrating. It seems like every time RIT gets scored on they take a penalty.

When it rains, it seems to pour, 2 quick goals, argh!

What a joke this game has become.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

Tough loss, after SLU, RIT needs to do some damage when they play Sacred Heart and AIC otherwise it could be a long season, hate to see the Ritter not host a playoff game.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

Team* has become.

The frustrating thing is I expect them to come out against SLU and have two great games, probably even win one of them, and leave us all scratching our heads as to where this team was last night, or during October. Consistency is completely lacking right now.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2013-2014 - Rocking The Ritter One Last Time <<<<<

"Rumor" has it that Garbowsky maybe done for the season with a hand injury...

I am not going to sugar coat it I am fed up with RIT and that is putting it nicely. One bad year is one thing but this is now becoming a very nightmarish pattern. Now yes, RIT had a tough schedule with a lot of road games. Yes it is early and with wins on home ice things can turn around for this team. However, given last year these excuses are little comfort for a team that frankly is so Jackal and Hyde on the ice each game that you want to que Jim Mora.

“Playoffs! Are you Kidding me Playoffs! I just hope we win another game”! ***ATTENTION USCHO BOARD ADMIN, THE INSERT VIDEO FUNCTION APPEARS TO BE BROKEN***

I think a great example of last night’s game and the season thus far was Greg Noyes performance. First shift he took a very lazy and bad angle on a break out and gave Canisius a grade A scoring chance and Ruby bailed him out. I am think this is going to be a long night. Then his next shift he comes out and makes a great pinch that lead to Schuler’s goal. In fact I thought he made both goals happen. His fed on Schuler’s second of the night was sick good. Then in the third period he made a poor decision at the line when he tried to one time a bouncing puck coming off the boards. Result an odd man break that requires Noyes to take a slashing call and the resulting power play is the game winner and the wheels come off after that. Text box definition of Jackal and Hyde.

Ruby had the same kind of night as it looked like he should have had the second Canisius goal. Fist one maybe, but looked like a seeing eye shot that found the net through traffic. Rest were all tap ins. Flashes the leather a couple of times to give RIT a chance.

RIT had Canisius on the ropes and could not finish in the second. Despite giving up a two goal lead which they have done way to much last two seasons. RIT grinded it out with Canisius and the Griffs took a couple bad penalty in a row giving RIT several power play chances including a 5 on 3. RIT produce some nice chances but failed to score missing the net on some great opportunities. The Griffs were on their heels on home ice, but you could see the frustration on the RIT players faces about their inability to finish their chance and thus a chance to finish off the Griffs.

As mention before Noyes takes a penalty as the result of a miss play at the line and the Power play leads to a goal, not long after that Perron-Fontaine makes a freshmen mistake in the attacking zone resulting in an odd man rush and goal and we are back to a script that we are all too familiar with since the start of last season.

This team was suppose to be better than last year and there was many reasons to believe it. But we see a Penalty Kill which thus far is the worst I’ve seen in my 15 seasons of RIT Hockey and a Power Play which only seems to work if Colacecchia gets a perfect one timer or Noyes makes a perfect pass, to many big time mistakes on the ice and soft goals it all adds up to no wonder this team dropped their exhibition game.

It is not pretty, I remain hopeful because of all the bad I do see just as many good plays out there so the talent is there. The mistakes just add up to losses though. And if the boys do not figure it out we are talking about a train wreck that will make the launch of ObamaCare look pretty…

I'm going to give it until at least mid season before I start pushing it, but the slogan #firewaynewilson is starting to seem justifiable.
