I am disappointed in you Prof. You really used RPI to measure teams? ;)

Ouch!

Fair criticism. KRACH is better in theory, but there just isn't enough data for that type of model. You could replace RPI with KRACH in my comment and it wouldn't change (within statistical uncertainty, of course).

I only chose RPI because RPI gets you in PWR and PWR gets you in the show. Either way, I think both SLU and RIT were happy to not get swept.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

I'm of the mindset that RIT needs to treat every game here on out with immense severity. Every point up for grabs needs to be game 7 of the Stanley Cup otherwise I don't see us moving up in the standings.

Totally agree. If RIT is going to make a run at a first round bye, they need to play with that kind of passion and intensity. My concern is that can any team do that for a long stretch and not be drained at the end of the season. Not that it was the only reason RIT lost last year's tournament championship after such an emotional win over Niagara in the semifinals, but I think it played a part.

Every weekend needs to be at least 3 points at home and 2 points on the road to move up. Everyone is still bunched up close so it's certainly doable.

You're correct of course. I just like giving people a hard time for using RPI (which is in my mind a worthless statistic). :)

Excalibur is run by Bentley's radio guy, who is so prolific that it could be a commercial site. He won't be making the trip because he chose a lousy time to have a life, so their poor fans will again be stuck listening to WITR. They were not fans of ours when we broadcasted the quarterfinals last year.

Oh I have to run over an sit near the Bentley fans again, last year they had some names for you guys that I never even heard of and i listen to talk radio :D

The Bentley thread has already started up. They get press from the website Excaluber Sports, and if you read that - the Falcons are looking for revenge and have not forgotten last year's quarterfinals. The site also claimed Bentley was the better team that series.

Your team (Bentley) gets outshot 143 to 97 and you say they were the better team all weekend?

Komm stole game one (Don't tell Shane I said that ) RIT was in complete control of game 2 than Let their guard down in the third and a couple lucky Bentley bounces set up an instant classic double OT. Game 3 was very telling, it was really dominated by RIT, if not for Komm it would have been much worst than the 3-0 win. And the time line has been restored, my work is done...

We've also gotten complaints in the past for not being even in our enthusiasm for both teams when they score. Our answer: send your own broadcasters if you don't want to hear us. We are broadcasting for RIT and do so without apology. (Well, at least without apology for wanting RIT to win. We have plenty else to apologize for. ;):rolleyes: )

I had the pleasure of doing the SLU games with Nick Phelan and the games were two of the most exciting ones I've seen in a while. SLU I think will be good preparation for Bentley. SLU is a finesse team but got physical when they needed to. Very offensively minded with a couple of the best players in the league up front and some defenseman who set them up well - very similar to Bentley. I think Bentley's goaltending may be better than SLUs.

I had the pleasure of listening to you and Nick on Friday, after I couldn't get the SLU feed to work. I loved your description that Appleton reminded one of you of a log cabin. After the dust had settled, nobody in this house got the upper hand this past weekend (my son graduated from RIT in '09). I hope that SLU plays at RIT next season.

Dan the Bentley Radio Guy apparently has something called a "life". I can't relate. Instead of schlepping it to RochVegas, he's talking his lady (sorry, inside joke) to, I believe, New Orleans this weekend. But when their fans at home complain about us, we need to direct their angst towards Dan for his selfish decision to have a, whatdoyoucallit, life.

Isn't that spelled, "laaaady"?

"How's yurrr laaaaady"? - Former RIT hockey coach who was an American but frequently talked with a Canadian accent.

They probably complain that John Murphy doesn't cheer when Wes Welker scores a touchdown, too.

This might be the worst period of the year (at least at home). Mitchell with an awful giveaway resulting in the 3rd (after the first two were soft) then another one resulting in a breakaway that they were fortunate not to concede on.

Ugly performance all around. Hopefully this is rock bottom.

Doesn't look like a sell out to me tonight, either. 2-5-1 (barring a comeback) with the only two wins coming against an awful Sacred Heart team will do that I guess.

Sad but true. All a Frozen Four run got us was this unorganized joke.

And thus marks the first time RIT has ever lost a home Atlantic Hockey game by 3 or more non-empty net goals.

Forget a bye, this team's now behind the eight ball to even host a first round series. 2 points behind RoMo (they have a game in hand), 1 behind Air Force (with their game tonight their game in hand), 2 behind UConn....and we have to pass two of those teams.

For once I am glad I couldn't watch the game. RIT hockey is in a sad state.

I think it's just frustrating to come off of a positive weekend at St. Lawrence and then do poorly at home. We've seen glimpses of quality play, so hopefully we can get it together at the end of the season. Else, it'll be a long offseason.

The is probably the sloppiest, laziest, and downright worst RIT hockey performance in recent memory. No wonder our goalies can't get any momentum going, they have to put up with a defense that belongs at the circus more than the ice rink.

thankfully the NHL decided that it was time to get back to the ice so that we no longer depend on this team to get our hockey fix. Bar tab to drown the TIGERS derived sorrows is starting to add up...
