Going to see the Chicago Wolves today vs Abbotsford. BNot sure why it has taken me so long to make my way there, but Tanev and Pinnizotto are on Chicxao in the Nucks system. Saw that Pinner hasn't played too much, wondering if he has been injured again this season. Anyway the mrs. and i will be in RIT gear. Hope to get a puck signe for my Daughter. We buy pucks from every arena we hit up.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

It's a pretty big series for both teams. Army still needs to prove it belongs in the top 4 of the AHA this year and a Canisius sweep would put them right up there too. I'd agree the best option for RIT is a split.

Well Cansius and Army split their series this weekend, so that's a good result for RIT and the best we could of hoped for.

Don't look now, but as of right now, Robert Morris' win over Miami has vaulted them to 13th in the Pairwise. They also are 4-2-2 vs. teams under consideration. 10 games vs. TUC are required for that metric to be considered.

They have their 2 against Niagara. It will help them if Holy Cross stays a TUC.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

It would depend greatly on who eliminates Niagara from the tournament and what that teams PWR is. I imagine if any AHA team beats Niagara in the tournament, their ranking would drop just enough to take away their at large bid.

Right now, if they were eliminated in a single game playoff by Holy Cross or Robert Morris, I don't think they would be eliminated from consideration if they win the vast majority of the rest of their games.

Robert Morris's good OOC record helps the whole league in the at-large bid area, because the RPI includes both your opponents' record and your opponents' opponents. Every team in the AHA west pod gets the benefit of three games vs. RMU in its RPI.

Niagara, RMU and Holy Cross round out the polls this week. Something funny going on in the AHA.

It's a good "something".

Maybe not right now for RIT, but definitely in the long run.

Happy New Year Everyone!

It's called winning OOC games (well, for Niagara I think they are getting credit for being undefeated in league play). Le's hope that RIT can keep the streak alive with some points against the Larrys this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if both Watson and Ruby get action.

Talk about a boring game on the second game. Need to get hit by the puck across the face to wake up. I laughed as a I heard my buddy who was doing the office ice interviews for TWC tell Coach Smith that they had a lot of time since they where live so to just run with any questions he ask and talk all he wanted to. When I asked him about it later he said, "Well what else are we going to talk about, three exciting things happen all game..."

RIT should have their sights set on 3 of 4 points with both these teams when they meet for 2 games...

Perhaps 3 or 4 points from Cansius but I will reserve the same against Army until after I see them play this weekend against Robert Morris. Army, against western pod teams this year have already lost both games against Niagara and split with Cansius. RMU is playing good hockey and if the cadets are non-competetive in both games then I agree with your position, but if they split with RMU like they did against Cansius, I wouldn't expect RIT to take more than 2 points from Army.

Well, that's one way to win a hockey game. Dunno if I'd recommend trying it again tomorrow night, though.

I'll take it. But they GOT to stop giving up shorties

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Another great character win, and definitely the right foot to start off on after the break. No matter what happens tomorrow night I think this weekend can be considered a success. Special teams is so strange, our PK doesn't give up a goal all night, but our powerplay (which is statistically great at scoring goals) continues to give up shorties in bunches.

I expect Watson won't start tomorrow night, but if he does, he is probably going to finish out the rest of the season between the pipes.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

I think Watson will get the bulk of the starts the rest of the way out. Ruby would have to play out of his mind tomorrow to make it a contest.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Agree with Winters that this is a great character win. The last update I got from Tate Rink at West Point was STL winning 3-2, so I was happy to see the 4-3 RIT win when I got home and checked the scores. BTW Army crushed RMU tonight 5-0, the game was not close, surprise, surprise. I do think RIT needs needs to win again tomorrow to put an exclamation point on this weekend, and give them confidence heading into league play. Let's hope for a good solid game tomorrow night.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-2013 - Locked, Loaded, And Ready To Roar <<<<<

Definitely a nice win, but the defense continues to make the same mistakes. Sounded like 3 more odd man rush goals against - including of course the two shorties.

Kuqali really seems to be turning into quite a player, though.

By the sounds of it from the radio guys, one particular player was at fault for the breakaway shorty. Lerch was commenting on how Wilson was screaming at the kid once he got back to the bench. Not sure who the player in question was, and the radio guys wouldn't say. I'd assume people who were at the game might know.

Regardless of who it was, the defense played well 5 on 5 and the PK was stellar despite being put out there a lot. The team just seems to fall asleep defensively on the PP sometimes. Fix that up and we'll be all set.

Don't look now, but the lady Tigers are in second place in the CHA after sweeping RMU!!!! (Others have games in hand, but anyway ...)

Let's see a second Tiger sweep tonight in the north country.
