Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

*sigh* I failed at negotiating more vacation days. :( I might be able to do unpaid vacation though. grrr.

But thanks for all the congrats on this thread. It helps remind me to appreciate that I have a job offer for a company I think I'll enjoy working for, and I'll certainly learn a lot at.

#boomroasted. Streak up to 4 consecutive Thursdays. Got fired from my RA spot, now I get to move to another room yet again and pay a prorated housing fee for the semester. I've had probably close to 40 people tell me it's totally ridiculous and pretty much just amazed that it was a straight termination, especially given the stuff that has been going on back home. Oh well, my hands are free from that corrupt and defunct department at this school, now I get to ride out the last month of school with no responsibilities.

Congrats. Assuming that you do like the work, everything else will pale by comparison.

My school called them CA's. I was one for a month. Quit. Screw that crap.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

Sorry to hear that, but with only a month left maybe it's not that bad (other than having to fork over some $$$).

Ya, $1200. I think the lack of headaches this job was causing recently will be a "buyout" well worth doing.

Headed to wild wings with some people to start my night of binge drinking. Probably out to the bar afterwards. Could be shenanicans tonight, we'll see.

Home or away uniform?

I was going to say home because they're white, but that depends on the league these days.

I bet it's the third jersey.
Definitely home whites. It's the only top I feel comfortable wearing. :)

Congrats again!

And a fine good evening to the Lodge. Homemade peanut brittle is in the kitchen if you want any.

I think I missed something...what did you do to get fired?

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

The few "downsides" of this company is 1. I would have to relocate to the hockey/winter sports hotbed of Houston, TX, or within ~600 miles....

houston is a pretty big airport and competitive. you will have the opportunity to fly anywhere that isn't all that expensive to see your team or games if you so choose.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

When I was in Houston it was miserable. Extremely hot and humid, the kind of weather in which you can't keep tater salad.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

Ok, which one of you sent this in? :D

I just headbutted my cat because he was trying to eat my bacon.

drove through the worst state ever. Staying outside of Indianapolis. I'm excited (and nervous) for hockey tomorrow.

Re: Rep Retirement Thread 132: Easter Goodies

Howdy Lodge! Just got home from my weekly Thursday night out. This one was extra special as we were celebrating my friend's CLEAN PET scan. She's cancer free!! Her hubby bought a bottle of Dom Perignon for all of us to toast to her good health. Only thing missing was hottie bartender, who is on vacation. No work tomorrow- gonna watch some of the NCAA games.

wT - congrats on the job! I know how you feel about not being able to negotiate. I'm the same way. But it sounds like a good opportunity for you. It's better than being unemployed!

hp1015 - sucks about being fired. What happened there? Enjoy the last month without having to worry about annoying residents!!
