I'm much the same way, but I do own checks. I couldn't tell you the last time I wrote one, but I do have a check book.

If I need a check I will use an official check or send one via bill pay with my online banking.

I generally do the same. In fact, that's how I pay for my hockey league fees. The guy running it likes that because he knows that of all the checks he receives the bill pay ones won't bounce.

I'm pretty much down to getting my weekly cash budget, rent, groceries, and occasionally gasoline purchases. No ATM card, though.

Right on. Not only does the bank write the check but if it cannot be sent electronically they will put it in an envelope and put a stamp on it and mail it with no charge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: What are you looking forward to in the offseason?

I only have a checkbook for the rare occasions that I need one. I maybe write 5 a year. Everything else is billpay.

Same here. They still have my 2nd to last Grand Forks address on them.

Study for our second block test tomorrow (3rd is Friday), they one of my best friends is coming up from Fort Worth for the weekend. Might check out the Aeros/Barons AHL game tomorrow night. And I do have to make it to TK's down here for a comparison...

I haven't carried a wallet for years. I use a money clip but I rarely carry cash. I use plastic most of time as I have a sweet rewards program that makes it worth it.

i've broken a couple. so now when i have excess cash i throw a gumband around the bills. cash in one pocket, cards and id in the other with keys.

So....your cash = a pimproll? ;)

Heck, I went thru my room 2 weeks ago to find my check book so I could pay my taxes. The last time I had used it was back in June. Thing is that book of checks is from when I originally opened my checking account. That was something like 16 years ago or thereabouts.

:D i often quote fletch if i am paying for something and i hear a comment on my size :p

That's a Fletch quote? (seriously?)

That's what we always called it. I didn't always live in cake eater country (although it wasn't totally the ghetto, either).

when his ex-wife's attorney shows up looking for alimony fletch pays him with cash that tim matheson gave him. as he is paying, the attorney says something like "cash, i'm impressed". fletch says, "i just saw my pimp".

so when i hear, "wow mookie, what's with all the money?" -- that's what i say, "i just saw my pimp"

Ahh, gotcha. I learned it as a "pimproll," and mafia movies referred to it as a "gangsta's roll." But yes, it's a wad of cash wrapped in a rubber band (or "gumband" as you silly easterners call it).

This was my thought exactly for the regionals this year:

(217):

getting up at 8am to start drinking seemed like a much better idea before I had to wake up at 8am

for the record, I started drinking the earliest amongst the Lowell fans both days

I only use it to pay for rent and the odd occasional thing which CC won't handle

bbdl, LWB, and I started at 8am both on Sat and Sun (and if it wasn't 8am, it was darn close). :D But yes, getting up at 6am so I could pick up LWB to make it to St Paul at 8....that blew. Had two Monsters on the way/in transit...

Re wallets: I have noticed that it is harder to find wallets any more that can be used to to carry both a lot of cards and a lot of bills. For various reasons, I have stopped carrying a lot of the cards that I used to carry (like my Social Security card) but there are still a lot that I need sometimes on the spur of the moment.
