Hit up your auto parts store of choice and pick up an OBDII (On Board Diagnostics II) reader for 20 bucks. You can plug that into your engine to get a troubleshooting code that corresponds to whatever is throwing the check engine light. Take that code to your mechanic, or you should be able to look up what the code means with some Google-fu.

Isn't there a trick with sorta turning the ignition, but not all the way? Or is that just in certain vehicles?

Some cars can do that, but I don't think all of them can.

Good Afternoon Lodge!

Covered a big indoor track meet the last 2 days. About 14 miles of running around and ~8k of pictures. Blech. I am not in the mood to sort them.

I did my usual routine of brunch then local watering hole. After a beer at the latter, I simply said, "Yup, body is done. Hello ice pack and heating pad. No more." It was couch time.

Weirdness- I clicked on link to this page from another thread and and then posted. It hung forevvvvver and then posted to the last thread I was in. Huh.

I haven't seen any ads so I'm hoping they've fixed that issue. Or are in the process of doing so. Maybe that's why you had that happen?

Anyway...just had a bit of a meltdown, well, I wouldn't call it a meltdown. It just hit me that it was a year ago today my dad had his first heart attack. I was just remembering everything that happened that Sunday and, well, I'm starting to tear up again as I type about it. I cannot believe it's been a year since all that happened. Where does the time go??? I miss him. :(
