Morning Lodge. Driving to Rochester today with Jr. to attend a turkey hunting seminar.
We really like it, but partly because they have the best gluten free menu among pizza places. Including some gluten free beers.

Lil's meet was cancelled. I emailed my Mum last night to make sure she knew and told Lil to call her. He didn't. She called at 8AM. First time we could all sleep in in months.
This is the woman who haunted me to get email for ever before I gave in because we could stay in touch and now never looks at her stupid email.

They have a lot of funky choices for toppings, which other people seem to really like. I'm more of a traditional guy when it comes to a pizza. I don't want my pizza to taste like a fully loaded potato - because if that's what I wanted, then I'd bake a potato and go to town on it. With that said, their Classic is pretty good, nice and zesty, which is a traditional set of toppings for a pizza.

I had to kick in the door to my bedroom about 20 minutes ago.
Prior to putting my mom into the nuthouse for her Alzheimer's care, she started going into my bedroom and either taking things or trying to do my laundry, which she would mess up. So I bought a new door knob suitable for a front door to a house and put it on my bedroom door because she still remembered how to get through a privacy lock. I have shut my door on occasions in the past, but I was always on the inside of the room when I did and the locked door would open without issue from the inside. Well, today I was on the outside and it didn't open without challenge. Then I remembered that my key ring was still in the pocket of the jeans I wore yesterday, and I had kept the spare key in there too because I'm an idiot.

Achieving Meat Smog at Chez Rube, by cooking up a lb of bacon for breakfast, to go with my usual Nutri-grain bars/Monster. Hopefully the bacon odor will stick around long enough to taunt my guests tonight.

Brought my car to a local Toyota dealership for its 5000 mile oil change. The maintenance required light had started to flash, as it does when you've gone 5000 miles between changes. Brought it in at 8am as I have a million things to do today. Was ready before 10am - yay! Drive all the way home, and all of a sudden - maintenance required light is on. The hell? I turned around and started to head back but wanted to call and give them a heads up that I was on my way back and I couldn't thru. Tried 3 more times. Still nothing. Thought it was my iPhone. Tried with my BlackBerry. Still wouldn't work. Called my mom, had her look up the number in case I had an old one, nope. Told her to try from her house phone. Didn't work for her either. Meanwhile, I'm driving back. I'm about e minutes away and the tire pressure light comes on. Seriously?? I got back there, told I just left 20 minutes ago and these two things were now wrong - please fix it. What an annoyance. Oh, and by the way, do you know your phones are down?
Deep breath. Off to get a mani/pedi.

Man, you miss out on Teh Loj for a day, you're way behind! OK:
You can get boots (cowboy boots, I'm talking about) without that giant "riding heel." The store I was at called them a "walking heel." No bigger than the ones on your finest Allen Edmonds wingtips. Waaaay better, in my opinion.
This being the Lodge, I should point out that a woman could have heels in her closet that are only for private viewings. Theoretically, of course.
I've only been to the modest Irish establishment next door. Now I can add Bonnie's to the breakfast list!

Haven't been to the Dubliner in a while, friend of ours band plays there occasionally the boss and I need to get back there soon.
Bonnie's is several steps below modest.....but the food is pretty good and it's not too expensive. Best part is Bonnie must have gotten herself a computer & color printer recently.
