Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

Now that takes skill!

Good Evening Lodge!

I told my VP that the Flintstones thought that cabinet was ancient. She laughed. She asked if I kicked it. I see that she has worked with me in the past.

Much better day today at the office. I got what I wanted to get done, and I didn't have the 4 PM chinese fire drill that ensued on Tuesday.

Good morning Lodge. I’m attending? Participating? In a virtual conference. We were supposed to be exhibiting and attending a large conference in Boston today. The conference organizers pivoted and made this an all virtual experience. CISCO is also a sponsor and we’re using their platform. So far so good. Serena Williams will be speaking later. Looking forward to that.

Good Morning, Lodge!

How are you and the young one doing during these times?

I've been curious about that question for parents lately. I just can't imagine the stresses of having to raise an infant right now. Though, on the plus side, no daycare charges I suppose.

Ha! You should be swinging that shovel just for practice!

Good Afternoon Lodge~!

Trying to be productive. My email is ridiculous. I have unsubscribed to a bunch of things but I think the people who are in charge of emailing stuff have ramped up enough that it makes no difference

Many is the case where a spouse/SO has to have a job JUST to pay the daycare expenses. In that case, just be a stay-at-home parent, since it's a wash anyway. One of my closest friends is a stay-at-home dad for that very reason.

s’upp y’all

the Chinese are going to ask that hammer refrain from using the term there and just work to have things completed properly going forward :)

I am doing well. Lil' wore Black is due to arrive in June. It has been tough at times because hubby and I cannot take a tour of the Birth Center or look at daycare facilities. I do have to say Fairview is doing a really good job with assisting expecting parents with giving directions and assuring they will be there. The part that is starting to get to me is not being able to drive to Milwaukee or my parents drive up here. I would love to spend time with my parents and go shopping with my mom. Zoom is the best thing we can do at the moment.

When I come back from leave, I am officially going to transfer to one of the liquor stores. The store director has been trying to get me to work for him for the past 4 years. I am currently working at the store as a cashier. Most customers have been very considerate and they know we are just trying to do our jobs. It is a nice change of pace. Plus, the commute is a lot better. 10 miles > 30 miles one way. /rant

Good Morning, Lodge!

That must be tough. L&D nurses are the bomb tho. They rise to the occasion no matter what the situation- way more adaptable and responsive than any other part of the profession

Good Afternoon Lodge!

Good Morning, Lodge!

Good to hear!

Evening, Lodge. today was a heck of a day at work (not volume of business, however):
We started temperature testing at work today. At my particular building, where it's me and one other co-worker*, we have to test each other (mgrs test at the main building). The tester has to have on a face shield, mask, and gloves when testing. My co-worker and I also have to administer tests to the truck drivers that pick up from our building.

*Found out from my boss, after my co-worker ended his shift today (he works 6am-2:30pm, I work a 9-5:30), that my co-worker is "gone until further notice; taking a leave of absence, nothing to do with the COVID." Now, he keeps a grocery bag of snacks in the break room, and even leaves that bag there when he has a week PTO. That bag was gone today. Guessing 2-3 weeks minimum he's gone. I still am a little floored right now at this development. I have zero clue as to his reasons (obviously it's really personal).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

Temp testing is such a waste and brings people into contact. It’s so susceptible to fluctuations. Did you drink or eat anything in the last half hour? Did you get enough sleep? Did you smoke? Are you female and ovulating? Etc.

Plus there’s the whole thing that 98.6 isn’t the standard anymore nor is it consistent person to person.

I know, I know. But, what the corporate bigwigs say, the plebes have to do.

Morning, Lodge. Supposed to be rather nice today in 952-land. Might be a windows-open kind of day.

Mine's been consistently been in the high 96's to mid 97's. Either that's my normal, or I'm part crocodile.
