Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

Forgot to mention - there is a stretch of Cliff Dr. that has a perfect straightaway for a speed test. Never any cops around, and that road is unsigned anyway. If my Fusion can hit 90 on it, I guarantee you that you could easily test out Maggie's triple-digit capabilities on that section.

Something to consider for next year. ;)

I did that on the first right turn after Bruce Crossing, but didn't let our lead car get ahead enough. :( Had to slow down so as not to hit him. The second right turn, a car was coming from the left, and couldn't ID it as a cop/not cop, so aborted that 2nd try. I actually had more fun taking the curves/hilly curves than the straightaway "gunning it" fun.

I can say I'm quite a bit more familiar with the capabilities after this weekend, when I didn't really have to worry about cops or traffic. It was quick learning, that's for sure.

I want to get my new car out on some twisty roads soon. I can already tell it gobbles up curves, but haven't felt quite enough g's to be satisfied. :)

Good Morning Lodge!

my kid cooked himslef pan seared bison with butter thyme (fresh from the garden) sauce with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. I guess we taught hime to cook for himself for a reason. He is now going to be a chef for us :p

Wow. I had a busy, fun three-day weekend. Friday afternoon was a date that started at 2:30, had free admission to the science museum, tooled around it until the South Pacific documentary started. After that we got some Red's Savoy (excellent pizza), and then walking around St. Paul until it was good and late. Saturday was a day-trip to meet up with a friend, tooled around Madison, WI, for a few hours, took in the Olbrich Center and ate at the Freiburg German Gastro-pub - Kasespaetzle mit wurst (unspecified variety), und Apfel Strudel. It was so good. Then another long date on Sunday, and I think my time in the office shall be my day of rest. It was a good, busy weekend.

dammit.

mookie being cheap walked 5km to meet up with work peeps for dinner instead of paying cab fare (was 1.15kd coming back), and missed the whatsapp that a dude's flight was delayed in ksa, so the meal was cancelled.

do people use this 'whatsapp'? it's like the biggest thing since sliced bread here. and mookie's told in europe too.

mookie thought they were at first just talking like "hey, what's up?". good laugh at mookie's expense :p

I use it to communicate with my sister when she's abroad. She heard about it in Chile and we've used it while she's been in South Africa, Turkey, Dubai, Amsterdam, Tanzania, Chile, and Panama. (Mostly airports, so good wifi is very helpful, especially for phone calls, rather than texts.) Texting with WhatsApp works well when the wifi is sketchy.

I don't use it for communicating with anyone Stateside.

Evening, Lodge. One more day of vacation, although I'm treating it like a Sunday, and chilling, before getting back into the fray.

Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

Morning Lodge.

Waiting for a customer to show up. Getting audited today. Super fun times to ensue I'm sure.

Stupid Tuesday

Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

Must be because Tuesday is a Wednesday here..... but mookie just had business lunch at an Iranian restaurant. Could be mookie's new favorite food.

Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

Mornin' Lodge. Supposed to be hot and muggy today. Thankfully, I have the day off before going back to the grind tomorrow (and weather is supposed to be better).

Have to close a couple trades on the beer market side, then it looks like a movie day at ol' Chez Rube.

Tell me more about Iranian food.

Grilled meats. Simple but with spices.

Rice. Multiple types to choose from infused with curry, or dill, or pomegranate

Flat breads cooked in a stone onsite. Then with hummus and other types of spreads mostly white, but some yellow tinted kinds.

Olives and pickled & fresh vegetables

The desserts are pastries (flat or flaked) with cream fillings served chilled or room temp. Then offered a liquified sugar to pour. Was told they use orange to keep it from hardening.
