Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

Morning.

Stepped on a spider this morning with my bare foot (on accident). Luckily, just a house spider, despite being of a size larger than i'd want to step on given a choice!

ew.

Good Afternoon Lodge!

Started with a fever again last night :( off I went to the PCP this AM because 7 days of fever is not great. She thinks it is a Flu strain they can't test for. Oh yay! On the plus side- no pneumonia. I was a bit worried about that cos I am not breathing well at night.

s'upp y'all

Everytime I see the Heathrow title I wonder if mook is still living there

mookie returned to the states on sunday. was supposed to return saturday but got hung up with the BA issue (think he mentioned this). slept on two chairs pushed together in a coffee shop.
a fun 2 weeks but bummed that mookie was in scotland all that time and didn't get to play golf once. :( never would have bet on that. did get to bet on newcastle winning the premiership next season. let's hope that happens as it'll worth 10k quid :D

mookie had the world club bed seats. can't see ever traveling any other way. will be in that class again in < two weeks when mookie heads for the middle east. heard the semi annual trip in sept will be london then toronto, so more club world seating :). will be going on his own first year which means no house or apartment, but hotel instead. gonna rack up 1/2 million points depending on his final decision on which hotel. throw in the housekeeping and will never have to wash a towel or buy soap/tp/shampoo!!!! plus depending on how wisely he chooses will have 'free breakskfast'

Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

mookie will add... he is could live in the lounge, he would :D

(it would be worth any line for security :p)

What weird weather. I got light drizzled and misted on practically the whole day, but I got home before the anticipated thunder storms. :)

Thanks to MEUSA from saving me from yawning. :D

It's a fun game to play until there's a snafu. Then, it's not so fun.

saturday wasn't a blast, but it was interesting. if mookie didn't have to drag his clubs it would have been a lot more interesting. a BA rep told me that getting out sunday would be iffy since all those flights were pretty full to start.. so took a tram from the airport to downtown (which to tell the truth mookie wasn't even aware existed). once there walked quickly to waverly station and bought a train ticket to london. found a seat close to the bar car and enjoyed the view to king's cross. then of course the bad news quickly developed that there were little to no hotel rooms available. so again the clubs are cramping mookie's style bigly :D
bite the bullet and decide to tube it to heathrow. all this on a whim since mookie's never been in london before and really wanted to see it. had to jump off a train to switch and make a call which terminal he needed. ended up wrong, but right. dragged all his stuff to a roped area and asked a woman after she sent people away to go call the 800# what was going on.... :) she starts with the 'go call customer service' and we asked if anyone behind her can reschedule. she makes mistake to where mookie's going, and WHAT CLASS. why ma'am i am going home to the states and am in world class....... she asked to see my boarding passes and BINGO, mookie knows he's in. she walks away and comes back and another BA woman is telling more people that there is nothing they can do at the airport, stops and tells mookie to come under the ropes. other woman goes "we are able to rebook?!?!"
"special circumstances here" is what mookie's angel says :p

so mookie gets to walk up to a bunch of people standing around and is told that there is room on the first boston flight at 11a. would he like window or aisle. why window if available....
ask them if they can check the bags... sorry, no.
ask if the lounge is open... sorry, not until the morning.
hmmmm. ok, thanks.

now mookie was in the wrong terminal so had to get on a tram and move. get to 5 and it's PACKED. see a coffee shop open and drop bags on a stool and grab a milkshake. see what looks like an empty table and chairs.... YES. drop stuff to save and run to collect the bags by the stool. all of a sudden a bed is made. would do that again.

Failures. Many, many failures in our application that processes $10 billion/day. It was fun.

Taproom hopping. For the locals, hit up Waconia Brewing today for their peanut butter porter. For the non-locals, it is about 30 minutes west of the metro.

Crazy week. Alternating days (meetings) and nights (Work). Forgot I am traveling this Sunday, so trying to get things done for the weekend in between work.

Re: Rep retirement lodge CC - greetings from heathrow

Evening. Spent a couple hours at my local booze store talking shop with the manager, about a lot of the changes in the industry/new offerings/etc; he even cracked open a couple bottles of beer I hadn't had before. We both learned quite a bit; him from the social media buzzings that I knew about, and me from the business insider perspective that he knew about. One example was that he didn't know that Surly was closing their fine dining part of their place, and I learned more about distribution routes/preferential treatments in the metro. Quite interesting.
