Afternoon Lodge. We got about 6" of snow here in round one. Forecast is for a little more than that in round two tonight. Fortunately the snow was lighter than they forecast - was supposed to be heavy and wet.

If I'm this sore after using the snowblower to clear that, I'm really glad I didn't have to shovel any - I'd be dead. Worst part is wrestling the blower up the bank from the pond after clearing the rink. Took two passes to clear the rink.

I like the wife's tradition of lobster for Christmas eve better than my family's lutefisk tradition. :D Simple meal of lobster, cole slaw, french fries and champagne tonight.

hi Lodge.

Last night we were supposed to fly to Aspen. Sleep a few hours and come back early in the morning. I like doing it; I get paid 6 hours to work an hour and a half. Plus I get to sleep in 1000 threadcount sheets and whatnot.

However, last night had different plans. Airplanes were having to come back to the gate to refuel because they were running out of gas in the deice lines in Denver! Our flight kept getting pushed back and pushed back. Now for those of you who don't know, there's a curfew in Aspen. If you land past 11:00 without permission, you get fined. Aspen was willing to push it back to 11:45, but said that if we landed beyond that, we were going to be fined 10,000 dollars. :eek:

So the flight canceled. Yay, right? I go home and get paid for it? Not so much. Our company decided to get us a hotel room close to DIA (which is like 4 miles away, not "close") and have us come back to the airport at 5:00 and operate the flight to Aspen. They put two extra airplanes on the route because the flights were so full today.

So....after 4 hours of sleep we safely flew to Aspen and Denver and got 74 people to their destinations each way.

The after effect? I just took a 3 hour nap and I feel sick. :(

Between snow and heart issues for the Mrs, we postponed our trip to the Iron Range until January, so I'm still at my computer wishing everyone in the Lodge a ...

My mom succeeded in dragging me to church. Luckily, the blackberry gets stellar 3g service here.

I get dragged to mass every year, and it's usually a hilarious sh*tshow. 17 of us in my fam, 5 of whom are under 10.

Ahh, I don't think so. I'm not exactly a fan of church. The only reason I'm here is because I'd catch hell all weekend if I didn't.

I just took a family picture. And realize my whole family is wearing some combination of red and black. shoot me now.

I see what you did there. :p

Our family goes to church every Christmas Eve, and, well, only Christmas Eve. :o We're not particularly religious, but it's comforting and the pastor generally has a good sermon.
