It's still was not legal, since your mentors or whatever they state terms them were in an impaired state.
"guardians" is the proper term, I believe. And it's still legal if they're impaired, I asked the cop.

Actually, we were sober on the way to the tailgate. We wish we weren't at that point, but we were.:(
Truth.

But you still weren't!
I can't wait until that can be said.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Over lunch I read an issue of Motor Trend from a couple months ago. If I ever have enough money to buy a ZR1, shoot me if I don't do it. Definitely one of the coolest cars ever, IMO beat only by a '69 L88, '70 'cuda or challenger, and a split-window 427FI stingray.

Quote: The. Best. Vette. Ever. So fast, we had to borrow a fighter jet to outrun it.

(twitch, don't even start with the veyron...:p A car that needs to have new its wheels replaced after 30,000 miles, for $75,000, is a car that I need no part of)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

? what year had a split window and fuelie 427. Lots of nice muscle cars, non of them stopped or handled like a new car.
I'm thinking 64 or 65, I will do a little research...or, gasp, the one I saw at Car Craft was a clone!!!!!

edit: yep, the split window was gone in '64  well, I guess I was completely off base here, my bad...forget the fuelie mention :p

yeah, I'm pretty sure the one I'm thinking of had a 427 put into the '63 as a restoration job. (which would be pretty sweet in its own right, and cheaper!)

edit: the fuelie thing was a brain fart :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

roughly 6.5 more workdays until vacation. I can do this!

maybe.
2 more days until this semester is over! :)
Which would be every car in the county. :D
Unless you count grain trucks, semis hauling cattle, and other assorted farm/ranch equipment :D
Good morning Lodge! :D

Up bright and early to get my Lodge on and study for my C++ exam.
I usually hoped for better than a C++ on my final exams :p ;)
3 days till my wife and I go on vacation. Guess where we're going? Here's a hint: Would anyone like some cheese or turpentine?
New Jersey? ;) :D .................................It couldn't be Wisconsin!

 I miss when we had a subscription to Motor Trend. Now I have to deal with only Auto Week and Road & Track. Oh! And USA Hockey, that one's NPB.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Despite feeling like total crap, I went out and moved all the snow using the snow blower.
Even when all the kids lived with us, they were intimidated by the tractor they drove all summer as soon as I put the blower, chains and wheel weights on.
I never shied away from using ANY power equipment, especially riding equipment, when I was younger. Hell, even now for that matter. :o
Mrs. Gonzo can use the shovel on the narrow walkway when she gets home.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

It took me 2.5 hours to get to work today. Normally when I do that drive (not during rush hour), it takes me an hour.

What route do you take? Or were you driving in from New Hampshire? Cuz while I know Boston traffic can be bad, there is no reason for it to take 2.5 hours from where you live to get into any part of the city.

Good afternoon, Lodge.

Wisconsin!!!! What do I win????

Power equipment = fun, especially tractors! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Personally, I'd take any pre-68 Vette over a new one. The new one would blow the doors off anything GM made back then but the old ones I can work on with a screwdriver and a couple of wrenches. The new ones are unreal and old ones will turn heads.
Growing up, a Chem E prof at Umaine, lived across the street from me, he help develop the resin used in the first vette bodies. He had a pic of he and Duntov(sp?) lowering the body down on a chassis back in 53 or 54.
