Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

What's wrong with Jameson 12? Or are you just not an Irish whiskey fan?

Not so much an Irish whiskey fan. I've recently tried some Bushmills that I liked (no idea what year, sorry), so I may be due for giving it another go, but traditionally I've been a scotch fan first and only. In fact, it wasn't until the past year that I discovered I liked bourbon too. Well, some bourbon. JD is still gross.

Ah. I definitely prefer Irish to Scotch - but I haven't picked up a taste for Scotch yet. The talk of whiskey reminds me, I have some Powers and some Makers' Mark waiting for consumption.

Take off the skirts and enjoy a Crown on the rocks. ;)

Crown is women's whiskey. That's why it comes with its own purse. ;)

Those are fighting words. You and me after school by the flag pole. :p

Quit while you're well behind on this one gmann. DC nailed your beverage with the purse remark and he'll wipe the floor with ya if you go through with the fight. Go play with your purse. :p

Makers Mark is actually what got me into bourbon in the first place. Mmm...

I wonder if I have any left at home... :hope:

I assume with the forecast of 1-2 feet of snow that Ralph has gone for his secret underground SW DC zombie bunker?

Well, here goes nothin'. Just called the Navy. I am being screened and a officer recruiter will be calling me back today or Monday.

Me too! My new favorite is Basil Hayden. Some friends gave me a bottle of Old Crow for my 40th b-day, also very good.

I am easy, I like both. :) Black Bush is one of my favorites and I love any Macallen that may be put in front of me. :)

psst...Greyeagle thinks you drink a girlie drink

He is a girlie man. Everyone knows this. ;)

So, that's what the girlie drinkers are calling it these days. ;)

I drink bourbon first and the occasionally scotch. I haven't had much experience with Irish though, I have had some Jamison but not much, maybe I should give it a try sometime. I agree about JD, I'll drink it, but it is no where near as good as Makers.

Makers is almost exclusively what I drink now. I also like me some Woodford Reserve....another bourbon that I tried when I was in southern Indiana, that I was told was very limited production and distribution is called Elmer T. Lee, it was incredible, try it if you ever come across it.
If you want a tasty, cheap bourbon, try Evan Williams, yeah, its $12 a fifth, but if you put it up against the high end bourbons in a blind taste test, it is right up there. I also have a bottle of Evan Williams Vintage Single Barrel that is very good.

I have a bottle of Basil Hayden in the cupboard, it has been there for a while, and many other bottle of bourbon have come and gone since. Maybe its about time to dig out the bottle of BH again...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Just bring me my Southern Comfort and Coke, please. And if you don't have Coke, I'll just have the SoCo. Thank you.
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. bad experience with soco, like so many others...

It's a good thing I'm headed up to NH right after work because all this drinking talk and the SUPER-AWESOME day I'm having here would definitely result in a night at the bar.

There are no bars in NH?
