Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

It's an LCD. I didn't know safe mode lowered the resolution, but that's good to know - otherwise I wouldn't be able to change the resolution as the screen on the laptop is completely useless now.

It was definitely plugged in and turned on - the computer itself was illuminated/fan was running, so I know at least that part of it was functional.

Does anything at all come on the screen when you first start up? Any beeps? Any pattern of flashing lights? Does the hard drive make any noise?

I think something fundamental is broken, and since you bought it from Best Buy, it's ultimately their responsibility to make sure it works. I'd just take it back and ask for a replacement.

The last thread only lasted a week. That's the fastest in a long time.

Some guy named Gryba passed Freddy's BU hacking record on Friday, although I suspect it took him more games to do it.

Congrats to Yager.

I have the goal as Sloe Gin from Painted_Bandit and crazytechfan. Was the time posted?

No beeps, no flashing lights. The screen is totally blank - it just gives a "no signal" message and that's it (which is precisely what it would do if you turned it on and didn't have it connected to anything).

Yeah, that looks like what I'll have to do. Asus tech support said the same thing: "Take it back to the reseller".

Yeah, but Freddy had better quality hacks!!

Woo..... Back from Alabama, and just now calming down from the trip. It really wouldn't be so bad riding with Eric if he would just let other people drive as well. One can only watch ya take your hands off the wheel to tweet or text before you start wondering what could happen. :p

And nope, GVSU didn't quite win the game, but with the first half they played, its not surprizing. Can't spot a good team a 21-0 lead and expect to come back to win it. Not after as close as what Northwester has been for the four prevous years beforehand.

Think I drank enough beer this weekend to float a small warship in it. There may or may not have been some drunken texts sent out this weekend to seval members of the lodge here. Sorry! :o :o :o

My research (and by that I mean I quickly scanned a couple of blogs and Wikipedia, so take it for what it's worth :p ) shows that as of today Meyer and Gryba have played exactly the same number of games! 126. Cue the "Twilight Zone" music . . .

(There must be something to having a "y" in the middle of your last name or something.)
