Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

I want to challenege Ralph in spreadsheet making. I have some pretty epic spreadsheets for my house's account and for Misfit stuff.
We have some at work that are epic. My supervisor showed me one that he had printed at his desk, that was a rolled up poster, as in a 4'x7' poster, with a spreadsheet in size 10 font. It filled the whole paper. Apparently it used to hang on the wall at the group's old office.
Yay! And you are mine as well. :)

Although bb_dl may come in a close 2nd...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Any computer savvy people on here (techies, I'm looking in your direction)?

I bought a new computer today, connected the peripherals, turned it on, and it's as if nothing is connected. The monitor gets no signal (doesn't matter which port I connect it to: VGA, DVI, or HDMI), the keyboard doesn't illuminate, etc. Is there any way I can resolve this problem without lugging the mother****ing thing back to best buy?

Interestingly, when I connect the monitor to my laptop (that thing's screen basically is fried now hence the need for a new computer), it displays during start-up then stops working after a few seconds and gives an "out of range" error despite the fact it's connected to the VGA port.

W T F?

what is VGA? sounds like a sex term to me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

That's one of the ports for the monitor (there are three that can be used).

Or if you're going the sex route, my guess is vag-grabbing-asphyxiation.

What kind of monitor is it? The "out of range" error apparently means that your computer is set to use a higher resolution than the monitor can handle. During start-up, there should be some key you can push to boot into "safe mode", which should be at some really low resolution any monitor should be able to handle. Then you can lower the resolution settings and reboot normally.

As for what's wrong with the computer, it doesn't sound like a simple fix. It's either something really simple (is it plugged in? is it turned on?), or some hardware component is broken. I'd guess you'll have to take it back in to them.

Upon further review of the poll results, it appears that St. Clown hates bacon, as he did not vote for it. I bet he hates America too.

It's an LCD. I didn't know safe mode lowered the resolution, but that's good to know - otherwise I wouldn't be able to change the resolution as the screen on the laptop is completely useless now.

It was definitely plugged in and turned on - the computer itself was illuminated/fan was running, so I know at least that part of it was functional.

What, because it doesn't have video chat? :p

That is easily fixed.

They should get Skype...

...or....

He should go up there and they should go to The Northern. :D

Skype rocks.

I like the first part of the sentence, but no thanks to the Northern :p

Go big or go home.

QFT

But I don't think you can get Smell-o-vision.

I don't even have anything to say to that haha
