My point was (in cased you missed it) she made the vow assuming you would always have two arms to take care of *ahem* "business" on your own. No arms = no happy endings. Just saying. :D

Sounds like you're speaking from experience. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

Gonzo - did you read my rep? Thoughts?

Yes - sorry. :o

Your accommodations should be grand. When we had the suite for Mrs. Gonzo's B-day a couple of years ago the out of town family and friends stayed there.
No regrets on not renewing the Wild, and not just because they're struggling this year. Considering Mrs. is in Bloomington and I'm in Becker, logistically it would have been tough. We did buy three games in 2010 from another STH we know. It's just nice not to have to figure out how we're going to get there, fight the traffic and get home in time to get up at 5:00 again. We've talked about renewing in a few years, but for now, just a game here and there is fine.

Have fun this weekend, and wish Mrs. gmann a happy birthday from the Gonzo's :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

For those of you who could care less about my family stuff please move along. Nothing to see here. ;)

So, the g family will be taking a break this weekend and spending a couple days in cityslickerville. (It is Mrs. g's birthday today and we will be celebrating that tonight and this weekend) Hanging out at the pool with the little g's, taking little g on a ride on the light rail and taking in the Mall of America are on our agenda. We also have a wedding to attend on Saturday. So, FIL calls me this morning and says "I heard that you and Mrs. g and the boys will be staying in cityslickerville Friday though Sunday. Would you mind if me, mil, bil and the g family go in on a suite and spend the weekend together?" I poiltely resonded more or less with "yes I would mind as this time was meant to spend with my wife and kids." fil called Mrs. g and is acting like the world is coming to an end.

I don't think I was out of line was I?

Not at all out of line. Stay away from that crazy until shyte calms down. :) On the plus side, they still want to talk to you, though it still makes me suspicious of their motives.

As for G1, if you have more time you could bring him on the shiny new Northstar. Let me know if you're looking for more train stuff too, and we'll chat about things to see.

 Hopefully nothing happens to you. :evil laugh:

So you actually trust the engineers who designed it? How foolish is that? ;) :D :p

Remind me to wear my flame-retardant underwear next time I ride the Hiawatha Line.

Afternoon, Lodge. Got my daym Jeep back - it better not break anything else, or I'm just going to name it "Edmund Fitzgerald II" and drive it into Lake Superior

I never thought about the Northstar. Does that run from Big Lake to cityslickerville? Little g is all about trains and if you have other ideas I am open to suggestions.

Question for you cityslickers. I will be staying in downtown St. Paul. If I want to get on the light rail and take it to MOA where would be the most convenient place to catch it for say a park and ride? (Because if memory serves correct the light rail is not available in St. Paul.......)

Thanks.

I sent an email to the owner of the Wild last year after the trading deadline had passed with my frustrations and my predictions for the franchise and potential solutions to turn things around. Low and behold nearly every single thing I predicted has come to fruition. Mr. Leipold replied (or somebody on his behalf replied) the day I emailed it to him. He stated that even though he respected my opinion he thought that my predictions were way off base. I should send him the email again and inform him that for a small fee I could turn things around for him. ;)

Probably the Fort Snelling park and ride. Should not be too busy as long as it's not during the Viking game and it's (I think) two stops to the big mall.

There is a train store - all kid stuff - in St. Paul on the corner of Marshall & Cleveland. Even better, Izzy's is three doors down!! It's an amazing place for kids who love trains, we've brought my three year nephew there a few times and he's had a blast. There is also a model train (IIRC - or at least there used to be) dealio/exhibit in the basement of Bandanna Square that is fun too.

Yup - http://www.northstartrain.org/plan_schedules.html. Looks like it'd be about 2 hours round trip.

Other places you could go, both in St. Paul:
-Jackson Street Roundhouse (open Wednesdays and Saturdays, with caboose rides on Saturday)
-Twin Cities Model Railroad Museum

EDIT: That's right, Greyeagle, I'd forgotten about that shop. Cool place.

As for the LRT, you can catch the 54 bus to the Fort Snelling Park & Ride, and take the train from there. By that time though, I'd just drive to the mall, take the train to downtown, look around, and head back - parking is free at MOA.

Remember, don't wear your bibs and straw hat around town. And you may as well leave your corn cob pipe at home, you can't smoke anywhere in the cities any longer any way.

No need to worry. Stars and stripes speedo, cut off A-Team t shirt and cowboy boots. I am sure with that attire I will fit right in. I will leave the corn cob pipe at home and I will just have to bum some chew from Mrs. g. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 90: This Poll Sucks!!!

Please read this post only if you have a sense of humor.

I just got this from a buddy of mine.

Yesterday on Oprah there was a story about a little girl. It was a sad story. She had been abused most of her life. Earlier this week social services intervened and took her out of the abusive environment. Oprah asked the little girl "if there was one place on earth you could pick to live where would it be?" After much thought the teary eyed little girl looked up at Oprah and said "I want to live with the University of MN Gopher hockey team." To Oprah's astonishment she replied with "why the University of MN hockey team" to which the little girl replied "because they can't beat anybody"

:D :p :)
