Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Ah - I was picturing Grizzly Hobo, just rolled out of bed. :p

10 is overrated, who wants to date someone who is prettier than they are?

I do! I don't want to date a girl who is uglier than me!

I don't think I could pull off grizzly or hobo. I look far too young still. I can grow some facial hair, but nothing anyone would mistake for a beard.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Pretty much every man alive.

I didn't say, "who wants to screw someone prettier than they are". :p (which is true for both genders...)

Perhaps the issue is with "pretty"?

Edit: JF_: True, I hadn't thought about that part of it (uglier). I just figured, if you were a 4,5,6,7, you'd want to date in the same range...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Oooooooh, Fargo!!! That's Wichita with more snow, right? I see you're getting all the destination resort spots. :D

well I could brag about my 19 hour overnights this winter in Aspen, staying at the Hotel Jerome which runs 800 dollars a night, with dollar ski rentals and free lift tickets for the flight crews, but I figure I'll be nice about it and brag about hanging out with Dirty. :D

I think we all aspire to be with a 10. 10>6. Simple math. Just happens that the most attractive females (10s) choose the most attractive males (10s), so the rest of us have to settle for those in our own range. Or a 10 with low self-esteem who thinks she's a 4. ;)

Now, given the choice between one 10 or two 6's, then it becomes a bit trickier. Some would say 6+6=12>10. Others may disagree.

Dirty, eh? That's gmann with fewer social graces and even less I.Q., right? :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

My wife and I spend quite a bit of time in Breckenridge throughout the year. In regard to election results from yesterday.....with just a handful of absentee ballots remaining to be counted, the town of Breckenridge has overwhelmingly voted [by roughly 70% to 30%] to decriminalize possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

There are "reckless skier laws" which are strictly enforced in the state of Colorado to the extent that several huge "personal damage" awards have been brought successfully by skiers injured on the slopes by out of control skiers. I'm guessing yesterday's election result will lead to more instances of out of control skiers being cited on the slopes and an increase in such suits being brought. The "catch" here is that while it may not be illegal to possess and/or smoke less than an ounce of marijuana in Breck it is illegal to ski in a reckless fashion. I expect to receive word that gmann and the Office Monkeys have booked rooms in the vicinity forthwith.

Gonna be an interesting winter on the slopes in Breck. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Howdy kids. Well, my work here at the conference is pretty much done, I think (though I hope I haven't just jinxed myself). I was trying to see if I could get home earlier. My flight tomorrow isn't until 2:30. Not sure why I booked it that late. I called our company's travel desk. If I change my flight, it's a $150 charge, plus any difference in airfare. Um, no. The flight was already too expensive. I'm not adding on to it. There's a Same Day Guarantee Stand By, which is a flat $50, which I might do, but I have to do that at the airport. And I'd do it tomorrow as I don't think I can cancel my hotel room for tonight without incurring the room charge. I could just go early and try to fly standby. If I didn't have luggage I definitely would have gone this route but I know it's always a pain to fly standby with luggage. It may just be easier to relax, sleep in tomorrow and take my normal flight.

Morning, Lodge. One of my friends convinced me to apply to MNS's place of employment for the winter. :o

They decriminalized the same amount of marijuana here in Mass. last year. I don't know that it's made any difference in anything other than the number of arrests for possession (decreased, obviously).

You're in DC? Would have have time (or motivation) to perhaps see a sight while you're in town tomorrow?

Actually, I'm in National Harbor, MD. Very nice developed area with a bunch of hotels and residences and fancy restaurants and no people. It would be a $25 or so cab ride into the city, so there wouldn't be time. My flight is at 2:30 and if I take the shuttle, I'd probably have to leave here about noon-ish anyway. I may as well try and get some work done.

Had dinner with one of my co-workers last night and he said he contacted one of his friends Monday and the friend wound up getting tickets for them the see Bruce Springsteen at the Verizon Center that night. Um, hello? Thanks for checking to see if any of us wanted to go!!

I was kind of hoping there was a home Capitals game. I would have tried to get tickets to that. But no. The schedule is not my friend.

With the HUGE exception that nowhere in Massachusetts compares to being the destination ski resort that Breckenridge is. The parking lots at Breck are bigger than the skiable acreage at Butternut and Catamount. Additionally, there are strict "reckless skier laws" on the books in Colorado and several huge damage awards have been sought, and won, by injured skiers in recent years. Prosecuters in Colorado are zealous in handling such cases. I couldn't begin to calculate the tax base which accrues to the town of Breckenridge specifically because of the ski industry. Suffice it to say without the revenues generated by the presence of Peaks 7-8-9 & 10 the town wouldn't exist in the fashion it does at present.

The ski industry and its many components generate a large segment of the town's [and state's] income. If there are too many well publicized instances of skiers being injured due to reckless skiing, linked directly to marijuana use , people won't hesitate to book ski vacations elsewhere in the state, thereby, further depressing what is an already most fragile economic climate in Breckenridge.

Because my wife and I spend so much timew in Breck during the course of the year we have become party to any number of discussions with locals as to their views on the decriminalizing of marijuana. It was a foregone conclusion that the measaure would pass overwhelmingly [which it did]. It was also the overwhelming opinion of town residents that there would be an increase in the number of "reckless skier" incidents in ski seasons after the measure passed. It is now only a matter of time before seeing how many large court ordered awards result from such incidents and whether the resulting awards will send vacations bookings from Breckenridge to other ski destinations.

My wife and I have long standing ties to Breck and worry that the economic impact [through reckelss skier incidents] of yesterday's election will have an adverse effect on the ski industry in Breck.

I can't say that I have paid much attention to National Harbor, but I thought that there were several condo developments there. Perhaps they are not selling.
