Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Afternoon!

Feels good to have Friday off, slept till 11:30. I picked the perfect day, as its a mix of rain/snow outside.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

You know this based on experience? ;)

yeah, I do actually. It's not a laughing matter, unfortunately. This probably happens more than you all would like to know. :(

I am sure it does. Is it common for all pilots in the cockpit to catch some z's at the same time? What strikes me as odd regarding this situation is that the pilots failed to respond to repeated requests via communication from MPLS, Denver and NWA for 75 minutes?

Dang, snowing again here.:( Snow up on the North Shore the other day is one thing, down here is another.

Snow.....I like it, but if its starting now this could be a looooonnnngg winter.

I guess its a good thing that computers are pretty good at flying airplanes.

I figured that this poll would be about Quiz's answer.

Wrong again! :D
It was a tempting idea, but I couldn't think of a good way to tie Halloween and that together well, so I went with Halloween. Quiz's answer can be poll 88.

Good morning Lodge.

The Crown was flowing yesterday. My head hurts.
Try a few hits from the Bong. ;)

Apparently drunk hockey guy doesn't understand my humor....but I suppose it doesn't take much for something to be over his head.
Yeah, He's not happy Drunk. He's a mean drunk.

I never thought of King Kong as a horror movie....

...and where is the original Psycho!

This pole sucks.
King kong was considered to be a scary movie at the time. Heck, even the orginal Universal's Frankenstein is pretty tame compared to today's standards. I kinda ran out of people to put there at the end. :o

Blargh..... Stupid weather!!!!!

So Hammer, I'm going to guess its a No for going to the Clinton at Summerfield game tonight?? I've got the raingear for it, but not so sure I really want to do that tonight, especially considering the fact that I'll probably be doing the same thing in less than 24 hours from now in Ohio. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

I was thinking that or one of those taco bell sauce packets that says will you marry me? :D

Nah, I'll take her to Monterey, go along 17 mile drive, find a spot to go walking near the ocean, and drop to one knee. 'Ewe knows why. :)

Don't run out of gas. She might think you have dishonorable intentions ;)

I can't speak for how it is in the cockpit, but I know that EVERY time I'm on a flight, I fall asleep within a half hour, max. That white noise is like a valium and a bunch of bong hits rolled into one. My daughter sat beside me on a flight to London a few years ago, and she was in awe of how fast I fell asleep. I was out for about five hours on that flight. :o

Ooooo, a new Lodge to post in! :D

Lucky *er. Wish I could fall asleep on planes.:( Of all the times I've flown I've gotten about one hour of sleep total on two different occasions.

If anyone wants ice times for playing pick-up or practicing, there are a whole bunch of slots for sale at Braemar on 10/31 in the evening. ;) The EHA booked all these times like it's a regular Saturday. Surprisingly all the peewee aged teams want to sell their times that night (including the one I manage). You could get a couple hours cheap.

I used to fly quite a bit back in the day. Usually I would be sound alseep before the plane would take off and I wouldn't wake up until the plane was ready to land.

Hmmm. My new steel toed boots are killing me. I went to the Red Wing store and had them size me correctly and everything. I'll keep a comfy spare pair of shoes with me when I come in on Monday. I only have to wear them when I leave the marked walkway here at the mill, but that could be at any given moment, based on issues in the manufacturing areas.

ok, knowing Quiz doesn't read the board...when I propose, should it be from the hip or something planned? Speechwise.
It should be short, to the point, and shouldn't be over planned. Good luck! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

I'm usually asleep shortly after a plane takes off (within a half hour), and asleep until approach, generally. Of course, I tend to stay up much too late the night before, so it is kind of impossible not to fall asleep.:o

Time for Friday afternoon dress uniform inspection, then weekeneennnndddddd. SLU @ Clarkson tomorrow night for the first of 3 meetings this season, wish I could go home again =[

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

The only time I can ever get any sleep at all on an airplane is if I'm really short on sleep. Like the time I had a 5 am flight and just stayed up all night instead of getting up early.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Talked to my dad, I'm definitely staying in the cities this weekend. He said that they already have snow accumulation at home. He sounded pretty depressed about still not being able to combine and mentioned that we probably will have to work instead of going deer killing.:(

But I'll be in the cities, so does anyone want to go drinking tonight?:p

Red Wings are awesome comfortable once they get broke in, but they can really be a ***** when they aren't. Last year I wore a brand new pair to the State Fair, when I was ringman for the open class beef show, I ended up with bloody feet. Now that they're broken in they're great to wear, but still not as comfortable as my **** kickers at home.
