Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Did you respond with Okily Dokily?
No, just "mEg", and that's another reason why he deserves it. Someone with a name like that is required to say 'Okily Dokily' as much as possible.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Thats what drove me nuts when I was in a union
This is pretty much the same working for the government as well. The payscale is based on years of service rather than how good you are at your job - so slackers that are professional work avoiders who have been there 20 years make more money than those of us who actually try to be productive and haven't been there as long.

Yes. He was traded for Joe Thornton. Or Johan Santana, I forget which...

And trumpet, you did the right thing. Had it been he, I would have said that he was crucial. I just wouldn't have told them who he was crucial to. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

After tomorrow, it might be oatmeal for me. :(

Thru a straw:) Is the post that holds the tooth loose or something? Doesn't sound like fun no matter what. I've broken 2 teeth in the last year, the dentist rebuilt them, saying if this doesn't work I'd have to get a post put in. Not looking forward to that. I can remember my dad going thru the same things when he was my age, funny how that works out

I think that is it. My dad didn't live to my age. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

At my job. DC was a week earlier. (Actually, the first 8 months or so was in Alexandria.)

I did spend 2+ years from 1990 to 1992 at ONR, but I was still officially an employee here.

Congrats Ralph!

I'm in the clear for a little while unless my lone filing comes loose. I got hit in the face with a puck in the living room one evening and chipped a tooth, resulting in my first cavity...I was 23. :o

This is one of those sentences you really only ever hear from a hockey fan.

(Sure, a baseball can do some damage, but baseball fans aren't likely to be playing baseball in the living room. They're more likely to be discussing stats - either how advanced metrics prove that wins/ERA isn't all that telling of how good a pitcher is, as they are largely dependent on the team performance; or how advanced metrics prove that people who know about advanced metrics are huge nerds and should be ignored, and, when possible, beaten up. Also that the Yankees/Red Sox suck.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Afternoon Lodge. I've been invited back to the office tomorrow at 9 AM to discuss the main project I'd be working on in a more casual setting. Sounds like I might have the job. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Congrats!

Thanks, I'm sorry to hear about HN's troubles though. If it makes both of you feel any better, this would only be a three month contract with the chance that I could be hired permanently thereafter. I know that doesn't help you though. :(

However, it is better than nothing in this job market, and in particular considering I haven't even been out of school for the requisite six months.
