Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

ugh...

awful golf today. my 9's went +2, +6, +7... arse was dragging by the end.

thought the bacon buffet was great! i took 8 slices first pass and finished up with a 2nd go of 6 slices with a cranberry juice chaser!:p

a dozen+2 slices is a great american start to any day;)

I'm assuming you had a urinary infection, because most other Lodgers would have chased that with liquor. Or more bacon.

Evening, Lodge. Work was nice, and I rewarded myself with a Chipotle burrito afterwards.

Has anyone here attended a show at red rocks? If so, is moshing allowed there?

For those that have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a picture of the venue:

Never been there, but from the pic it doesn't look there is anywhere to mosh. Unless you plan on some extreme form of moshing in the amphitheater bleachers.

Actually, I wouldn't put it past him.

Evening, Lodge.

Learned tonight that the Nintendo I bought at that yard sale works, bought Blades of Steel for it last night, and will spend most of tomorrow morning playing. I'm definitely going to pick up Super Mario/Duck Hunt, the Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Super Tecmo Bowl, and Tetris for it, but are there any other games I should look for?

Dunno about games (never owned an NES :( ) but scour all the secondhand shops, etc, for games. When my 2600 worked, I found a bunch at those types of stores, usually for really cheap, maybe around a dollar or two.

They usually won't have their own section, they're just scattered in a general "toy" or "games" (which includes board games and such) area.

Kid Icarus, Legend of Zelda 2, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, and Bubble Bobble

TMNT was okay. Baseball Stars (I think that was it, with the chick team, etc) and Baseball Simulator 1.000 were awesome.

Edit: Baseball Stars was indeed the game.

The first TMNT is NOT worth getting.

TMNT 2: The Arcade Game is a must-have though.

You should also get Contra, Bionic Commando, Mega Man II.

The first TMNT was okay. Not great, not bad. Tough, though, I will say.

The arcade, well, I only played the arcade version, and obviously that rules. :p

Just tough? I'd put it in the top 5 hardest games on the NES, along with Contra, Battletoads, Punch-Out and Ninja Gaiden. I'll bet less than 10% of the cartridges ever made saw the end of that frigging dam level. And it just got worse after that.

And the arcade version is on XBox Live :D

So, I just got home from Lansing for a State Executive Council meeting.
One of our members has been whining for the past three days about everything, showing an attitude to everyone, hanging up on people, crying, throwing tantrums, and leaving the room.
He threatened to resign yesterday, nobody attempted to stop him, but he "came to his senses" and didn't.
I never thought I'd say it, but I'm SO dámn glad to be back in the UP.

To clear up the birthday shenanigans, when I made the "new" account of ctf, I didn't put my actual birthday. I put the year 10 years earlier (should be 1992), and 7/8 is my half birthday.
Regardless, thanks. :p

Morning Everyone!

Welcome back Les!
Sky's still gray here but I think I saw a blue spot.

I shot another woodchuck yesterday. I think that it was the last of the little ones. Maybe even the last of the family.
Blood makes the grass grow!!! KILL!!! KILL!!! KILL!!!

We're up for it. However, I call, "Not it!" on being in charge of where and when to meet.

Find some of that stuff and bring it along on Saturday! :)
We can probably just meet up at the Festival like we did last year, with Mandy looking for me in the wrong beer tent.;) I'm going to be coming from the other way anyways, so not really a whole lotta point of trying to meet up beforehand. I think I'll try to find a parking spot in the downtown area, so then we can all grab a bite to eat at Dan's, and then I can shuttle everybody back to their cars if you parked out by the schools. Then, its just a question of how early everybody wants to be there I guess.

What a BEYATCH!!! You should have said something Molly, it would have been really easy for me to drive up there and straighten his punk *** out.

Grrrrrrrr..... I think I got me a case of Wanderlust. Kinda itching to get outside, do some hiking or canoeing perhaps.
