There's no bacon option?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

In response to a rather blunt rep message I just received, I didn't include Pong because I thought that was a late-70s game.

A brief internet research sabbatical proves me correct.

So you can take that hot mess back to summer camp, repper!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

Pole is missing the following:

- Outrun (the first video game I ever played, at a service center on the way to Cedar Point)
- After Burner/After Burner II
- Hang-On/Super Hang-On (yes, I'm a Sega fanboy, how'd you ever guess?)
- Robotron 2084
- Paperboy
- Marble Madness
- Roadblasters
- TMNT: the Arcade Game (this was the sole reason we went to Chuck E. Cheese)
- Bubble Bobble
- Gauntlet

And if I can get permission to leave the 80's...

- Dance Dance Revolution
- Crazy Taxi
- Cruis'n USA/World/Exotica
- San Francisco Rush
- Time Crisis
- House of the Dead
- Hydro Thunder (EVERY frigging arcade has one of these it seems)
- NBA Jam
- NFL Blitz

God, I miss arcades.

Wow, I thought I was a true child of the 80s, and all I recognize from your list are Afterburner and Gauntlet!

And no, you can never get away from the 80s.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

I remember loving the original Mortal Kombat, but only if someone was playing who could do the fatalities.

One minute the sun is out and it's a gorgeous day.

The next minute the clouds come rolling in and it's dark as night.

Now we're having a thunderstorm. Great. At least I'm not stuck outside. Freeport must be nice right now...

You would be able to name your first video game that you played, and the location. ;)

Elf needs food!

Am I the only one who grew up with Colecovision instead of Atari? :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

I think mine were probably PacMan and Combat, around 1982 or so.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

PacMan for me.

And how could anyone forget:

Dragon's Lair
Double Dragon
Pole Position (I and II)
Tron
Operation Wolf

and that submarine game, where you had a periscope you had to look through!

Nope. I had one (+ the Super Action controllers) and wanted the ADAM computer in the worst way... but fortunately ended up with a C-64 instead of that piece of crap!!!!

You also left off Battle Zone, you America-hating nazi bastard!!!!!

What was the game where you turned a dial and it moved you around the perimeter of a circle so you could fire inward tat the things moving outward from the center to attack you?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

I think I'm begining to realize just how much I missed out on growing up, with my parents not getting me a NES and whatnot. :o :o

Later on game, but I can probably whoop most of you on it, Tekken3. My freshman roommate had it and we played it all the time, him and his buddy were pretty serious gamers who could do all of those combo moves and whatnot while I was more of a button masher. My favor thing to do was when the both of us were both down to mininum health, and they would go for some combo and I would just go in and do a simple punch and kill em. Towards the end of the year they pretty much refused to play against me if I had Hwarrang or Eddy, at least not without me handicapping them. :D

Not sure what I'm doing tonight yet.
