Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

NaSK owned a Sparty sweatshirt and coffee mug when we first met. They have since disappeared (not my doing). He now owns lots of Michigan stuff and became enough of a Michigan hockey fan that he set up BTN+ so we wouldn't miss games.

He didn't have a strong allegiance. His cousin that he lived in front of (rented house from the uncle on the same property) was going to State when we met, so that's where his State stuff came from. He went to Western for a year, then years later went to ITT tech. I honestly wouldn't have cared if he kept the State stuff, as long as it was not out when they play Michigan.

Our only conflict is when the O's play the Tigers, and even then neither of us is a huge baseball fan (even if I did name my dog Camden, so I can have Camden's Yard). I think we're going to an Orioles/Tigers game this year as it will be University of Michigan college night. Possibly baby's first baseball game...I'll have to buy her some Orioles gear to wear.

My wife used to be a Gopher hockey fan. Then when they lost every game we attended last year, including against my Huskies, and she saw how much fun it was to root for a fun, talented team....Well, it was just a matter of time before she became a fan of Dum-Dum U.

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Baseball is grounds for divorce in our house. Yes, we are fans of different leagues, but we also watch and follow baseball closely.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

The only point of contention in my household is the NHL. My wife, who never followed hockey until she met me, is a Penguins fan (because she’s always loved the animal) and my daughter has followed. Naturally, I have always found that... annoying. I’m a “Dallas until the Seattle team starts” fan.

The only thing I’ve made clear to my daughter is there are two teams she will never root for: The Portland Timbers and UAF.

Good morning MEUSA and Ralph.

I was supposed to fly home yesterday, but my plane had a mechanical problem, so I had to spend the night in Amsterdam. I am back at it this morning.

Good morning, Lodge! Early show today, to get some work done before the phones & people start to get distracting.

Good Evening Lodge!
I actually walked 2.2 miles without having my shoulder feel like I did something really bad. Yay!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

1992 is about the last good issue for Topps. I understood why they did 1986 and 1987 like they did. I didn't like the 1989 and 1990 issues. 1991 wasn't bad, but it seemed like they put the 1992's on a better stock. 1992 was the tipping point where everything went to hell. Fleer and Donruss were pretty much also-rans, and were never taken too seriously. Fleer's early 80's stuff is very flimsy.

I did NOT like the re-issue of Bowmans, using the pre-1957 card sizes. I don't know why Topps resurrected that brand (they bought out Bowman in early 1956, IIRC).

I know this is an older post, but I know my dad bought my brother and I sets from the years we were born until the very early 90s. All still factory sealed Topps.

Also the "-man" part :D

Ahem...
Woman... woe-man... whoooa-man. She was a thief, you gotta believe, she stole my heart and my cat. Betty, Judy, Josie and those hot Pussycats... they make me horny, Saturday morny... girls of cartoo-ins will leave me in ruins... I want to to be Betty's Barney. Hey Jane... get me off this crazy thing... called love.
Harriet. Harry-ette. Hard-hearted harbinger of haggis. Beautiful, bemuse-ed, bellicose butcher. Un-trust... ing. Un-know... ing. Un-love... ed? "He wants you back," he screamed into the night air like a fireman going to a window that has no fire... except the passion of his heart. I am lonely. It's really hard. This poem... sucks.
