Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 198 - A New Season Begins...

Good morning Lodge. Finishing up my packing and relaxing, or trying to, today before I head out tonight for Ireland! I’m excited but a little anxious. Watching the last of my shows on my dvr today. Getting rid of all my trash and recycling.

Stressing about the little things...will I be able to sleep on the plane? Will my phones work when I land? Will the car service be there to take me to hotel? Will I forget anything? When I checked in online last night, it wouldn’t give me my boarding pass. I know I can print when I get there. Still...

The weather seems to be cooperating at the moment. Here’s hoping for a smooth trip! Will try to post here when I can with updates.

Good morning (barely), Lodge! HHT - sweep weekend! I was up in St. Cloud last night, and suffered through a long, horrible drive where people were going 45MPH on 94 and thus was late for puck drop by about 5 minutes. It was a dusting!

I was heading to Blaine from 52N/62W, taking 100N, and it was bumper-to-bumper at 35mph tops (55-60 speed limit). Thankfully, coming home, it was in-between the flurries, so no problems there.

Good afternoon Lodge.

For those of you keeping score from home. The in-laws sold their home and moved here last May. You have no idea how awesome that is. Blissful.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 198 - A New Season Begins...

We flew to Dublin two years ago, I didn't sleep at all since I knew was driving to Galway as soon as we landed and I was nervous as hell. Turned out fine - two weeks, 1700 KM and not a dent or scratch - and I actually adapted very quickly.

One fun thing we did in Dublin was a traditional Irish music pub crawl, was really fun and once they found out my daughter was a dancer the talked her into dancing a couple set. Great time! Best part of the night was after we were done with the tour and wanted to find another pub with live music. My daughter, who had been in Ireland for the semester and in Ireland a couple of different times said "I know a place" a proceeded to lead us directly to "O'Sullivan's". This is the girl who, before she left, could barely find her way out of the our neighborhood and now she's navigating Dublin and doing knows where the good pubs are!!

gmann - Zoiks! Good luck with that.

Gah, I miss spending the night in Temple Bar just going pub to pub, enjoying fresh Guinness and listening to music.

Have a great time over there Scarlet! Definitely plan a day for the titanic museum, and be sure to check out Rockies sports bar in the arena building downstairs. Fantastic bar, and probably the best collection of sports memorabilia I've seen in a sports bar. Really enjoyed Belfast last year, lovely city to explore and spend time in.

Yay! It's very pretty here this morning with an overnight inch or so. Didn't stick to the roads, so commute was fine.

Though, driving home last night in the sleet I had some road rage. Jerk in a Jeep on the highway hanging out in the left lane going 50. Keeping pace with guys in the right lane, blocking everyone. Eventually even the semi truck passes him on the right, which causes Jeep to slow down to 40-45. I understand if you want to drive a bit slower due to inclement weather, but get in the right lane, or take back roads if highway speeds scare you.
