Yes, he will have to figure it out. He’s the boss. He’s got to, you know, manage a bit.
Amazing how few people want to do that. Take the pay increase to be in charge, absolutely...do the work...*pffft*

I get those texts every day I'm off -- "please come in...we need help. We're short." Sometimes there is incentive (time and a half), but usually it's just our chrage nurse reaching out trying to get a warm body in to help out staffing. It's irritating because we lost a bunch of nurses and no one replaced them quickly, but now we have 6 people orienting. The issue is that even after orientation, it takes time to get up and running as a nurse in our Unit due to the complexity of the patients.
Also, we self-schedule and then our boss goes in and "tweaks" what we've put in to help with staffing. This can be frustrating since we usually talk amongst ourselves when doing our schedule so that people get the days off that they need.

ETA - I know you're being funny though. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 197: Hot! Hot! Hot!

I recently got a promotion and a decent raise, which is great. It was overdue by about a year or so, I should be a specialist by now honestly. But I'm not griping about it now. I'm kind of switching gears and don't think I'll get too specialist before move to a different area. One of our BPA's moved on a month ago, she was awesome. Her manager isn't terribly impressed with the other that still remains. This manager has noticed that I've been telling the new BPA what to do in most situations, because he has been asking me instead of the other BPA. I see a chat with the BPA manager happening in the next month or so. The old "Let me know if any opportunities arise" sort of thing.

Nice! Congrats! :)

Nice! Congrats! :)

Thanks!

My manager finally came through. His director asked why he was giving me a "far exceeds" with a 3% bump every six months. Manager said "He's the best operations associate in the company." This was of course said with snark, because what I've been doing for the last two years far exceeds what is expected of an operations associate. Director then asked, why not promote him, then? Manager replied "Staffing model won't let me."

This took balls. His director has, well, a direct say in the staffing model allocation in the area. It worked, though. My manager is honestly a pretty annoying individual that doesn't seem to know much about what his team does. But, he stuck his neck out there for me and I won't forget that.

Very nice, soh!!!

Mornin', Lodge.

Gonna be a hot one today. Heading over to a buddy's for a good ol' BBQ potluck Sipper Saturday. Should be a grand time.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 197: Hot! Hot! Hot!

Good morning to Lodge!

No internets or cell service at home due to a power failure of some sort (no clue why cell service is out since they should have backup power). Electric company saying it could be "hours" before restoration.

And we're supposed to get ALL. THE. RAIN. today... this could get interesting.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 197: Hot! Hot! Hot!

Evenin’ Lodge. Home all day today. Cleaned my bathrooms. They needed it. Rained pretty much all day today, but not raining now. Just made dinner. It was actually pretty good. Now to have some of the brownies I just made!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 197: Hot! Hot! Hot!

That 70s Show:

Mrs Foreman: We know you put that special ingredient in these brownies...
Eric: ......huh? What do you mean?
Mrs Foreman: You know...love.

Morning, Lodge. Fun day yesterday, perfect night for a bonfire. And some mead. :D
