Good Afternoon Lodge!

Painters were here. Carpenter was here. Having a bit of a duke out about some things with the carpenter. Previous threshold went over the top of the cork floor in a little dip. When they pulled the floor out they pulled it out from underneath. put a thin strip over the treshold that dipped down from the hardwood making a trough between the doors. I said NO. Do again. This used to go over the top of the cork. Not working this way. He only wants to put threshold over top of everything. I keep saying it used to overlap. Not getting anywhere. He is not a 'worker'. He is creative and likes to make weird things but def not a get in the trenches and pound it out type of guy. He thought he was going to tell me it isn't possible. I told him clearly it was because it was done before. The flooring people passed the buck. Grr.

Mornin’ Lodge.

I’m best man in a wedding next weekend.. been thinking about shaving my beard for awhile now.. pulled the trigger this morning. First time since October 31 2016 I’ve completely clean shaved my face. Feels weird.

We just got notification that the company has now added Martin Luther King Day as a holiday. That's pretty cool.

Good Morning Lodge!

They are staining and finishing the stairs today. No access to the top floor for 48 hours. FOr those keeping track that means we are now living in 1 room. The kitchen and Dining room are being painted as well leaving the bathroom and the living room (which has the kitchen counter contents and also some of the dining room furniture in it. Think Discovery channel hoarder house with a path.) Making me a bit tetchy.

My company announced a few weeks ago that we now get 6 weeks of paternity leave. I now get more paternity leave than my wife gets maternity leave. :p



Went to Spoon and Stable last night. It was as good as advertised.

I don't shave my face at all for my month off the boat, since I'm required to every 1-2 days at work. It feels weird to shave it after a single month for me.

Evening, Lodge! Back to normal internetting! Yays!

Gearing up for Sat and the local brewery's Anniv party. Picked up my volunteer shirt tonight, and the area is prepped to go. Since they shut down the whole block, no parking signs EVERYwhere with the times being Fri 3am-until Sunday noon (the latter time, IIRC). Weather looks a little sketchy right now, but the show must go on.
