Mine was around 650-700 as well. You can either pay higher income taxes or fees. Or you can have roads like Indiana.

Note that we also don’t have inspections either.

MN has a lot of fees implemented when Pawlenty wasn’t in power.

Edit: removed partisan political stuff. Didn’t realize it was the lodge.

I've never driven on roads in Indiana as bad as I've found in MN, and I've had to go to Indiana quite a lot over the years.

Really? The last few times I drove through Indiana I remember thinking, "Man, these roads are worse than Aleppo's"

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 195: Who ends up at the RR Country Club for the summer 1st?

Must be. We just register the car, the Registry sends a card that goes in your glove compartment and a sticker to attach to your license plate. We do that every two years and it's only, like $60. Or less. Can't remember. Certainly not as much as Minnesota! Yeesh.

So, today's storm is now not starting till much later. Downgrading storm totals. I just want to know about Sunday's potential storm. They can't really talk about it till after this one, though, I guess.

$$ for registration is dependent on the valuation of car, I think. If the car is new and expensive costs way more. Mine is less than 60$.

Forgot to check in. Good Afternoon Lodge!

Well, that was Gary. I specifically remember that road. Everything about Gary sucks. :p

Also, I can show some MN roads that are worse than Aleppo's too.

Ours are similar, only the first four years of registration are a minimum $200. After that, the fees are drastically reduced. This was done with the idea that people in more secure financial situations are the people purchasing new/er vehicles. Not surprising.

Jesse Ventura fixed this garbage, then after that it all went to **** again. No one, no one at all should be paying $700 for license tabs.

I have to renew yearly. My old car was about $40 a year. My new one was about $340 and will be about $220 this year.

Minnesota roads are 10x better than the roads here. The yearly budget for road repair in Indianapolis is $88 million. It would take $732 million to bring the road conditions to fair. It took me 3 days to stop instinctively dodging several of them on my way to/from work after they got filled in.

Not to mention the east metro has way better roads than the west or south metro. Every time I drive over to Plymouth or even to Bloomington, I'm struck by how bad some of those highways are.

Board has decided to require manual registration for new users. :)

This. The last year I owned my 1999 Jeep, the fee was about $40. IIRC, like insurance, once the vehicle is 5 years old, huge price drop.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 195: Who ends up at the RR Country Club for the summer 1st?

So, it's lightly snowing here in Boston, barely a dusting. Quite a bit of change from the 8-10" they were predicting two days ago. I can't really be upset as seriously, I did not want to deal with another 10" of snow today, but based on the dire forecasts, I put my car in the T garage yesterday morning and I did not need to.

les - you guys get anything up there?

I guess when I go to Indiana, I'm not in an area with bad roads. I have never had an issue in and around Columbus.

35W through Roseville is getting really bad. 169 has been terrible, but that's one they're working on fixing. But, they actually get around to fixing the highways eventually. Some of the side streets around the cities are just awful and have been for 15 years.

Snowing to beat the band up here. have 2 inches already. The radio tells me I am having nothing. Huh.
Good Morning Lodge!

Supposed to be correcting but the school internet is down. Really? I need to catch up. Sometimes the more things change the more the stay the same!

The east metro has almost entirely brand new freeways. But yeah, 35W is a disaster already. Not as bad as it used to be, but it's disappointing that it's already started to deteriorate in less than 10 years.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 195: Who ends up at the RR Country Club for the summer 1st?

Mornin’ y’all.

Excited for the tournament to start tomorrow. Nervous as hell, however.

47 for a high today, followed up by half a foot of snow Friday night into Saturday. Warm enough temps it shouldn’t be much of a long term issue, but hoping it starts after I get to the Twin Cities tomorrow afternoon.

Waiting here in Smashville for my flight back to FL. Month off should be eventful yet again, with FF a definite trip, may mix in a trip to NYC just before for opening day.
