Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #192: What DO you do, with a BA in English?

Thinking I was going to be going to the state fair on a possibly rainy day would keep down the crowds.

****. Just ****.

The park and ride bus is packed to the brim.

I'm going there come Saturday. I'm hoping the weather change will just keep me dry. I don't much care about the size of the crowd, I just don't want to be rained upon.

What has your wave action been like? Experiencing 10 footers in a 35' fishing charter with no cabin was my limit. :)

I've gone under the Mac in a Zodiac before.

(Crossing the Mac to the UP, look to your right about 2/3 of the way across waaaaaaaay off in the distance. See the lighthouse? That's Round Island Lighthouse - my Boy Scout troop has done restoration efforts on it.)

I'd rather be rained upon than deal with people, especially the stereotypical State Fair people (double wide strollers or scooters, looking at you....)

You'll get those regardless of when you go there. It's just a matter of the density. And with my glasses, I'd rather have crowds to deal with than not be able to see.

Fair enough. :)

Sleeping late RFAlph?

Good Morning Lodge!

On the docket for today- going to lil to register his car, meeting for the NP group I run, and all sorts of other things. THis is my least favorite week of the yr. Don't want Summer to end, hate all the scutt/prep stuff that needs to be done. The doing is fine, the prep- bleck!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #192: What DO you do, with a BA in English?

Took me over 30 minutes to walk from my place to the T stop this morning. Going to see if there's a way they'll let me have a spot in the garage here for the next few days. Hoping that since I'm only asking for three days and that it's the last week of August and many people are on vacation that it shouldn't be a problem. I can't do that walk again. At least tonight on the way home I won't have my laptop in my backpack.

For les's benefit I am going back to sleep. Too ****ing windy intermittently out there with some rain in a few hours. Advance bands of the possible future TS named Irma or Iris or something else. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #192: What DO you do, with a BA in English?

Happy Tuesday Lodge! Drove in to park in our office garage on a medical pass (yay!), pulled up to the garage door and realized I left my badge at home. So mad at myself. Drove to a garage to pay, hobbled all the way to the office, told the security folks at our employee entrance as I was getting my temp badge to get in the office. Got up to my desk, they called me to say they reached out to the garage and that they would let me in with my temp badge. Double yay!! There are some really good people that work here.
