Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

*HT.

My heart is broken. Division III Women's National Championship. Our girls were 20.7 seconds away from a national championship on our home ice against the 3x defending national champions. We were on the power play to close regulation. They pulled their goaltender....and scored a SHG to tie things with 20.7 left in the 3rd. We took a penalty in OT and gave up the game winner. 10 seniors (including 5 All Americans) had their careers end on that note. And when you get to know the players and their families, it makes it even worse.

Time to rebuild.
Heartbreaking :( It is much more painful when you know the players.

Patman- Agree with Hoven. Show the space. if you furnish it and something gets damaged you have the headache of dealing with that. Let them figure out how they want to configure things. If you set it up they have no flexibility or they may have stuff and then want you to get rid of some things.

Good Morning Lodge!

Off to the selection show where we only need to find out where we are going. Remembering the angst of being with the team when we should have been chosen and were bypassed. The dead silence still makes me cringe. After that debacle was when they started the more objective parameters.

Morning!

Church today with LWB and Papa LWB (or so I hear). Have to make sure I get there right before "official" opening so I can get the selection show on one of the TVs.

First NCAA regional I won't be attending in person. Our game is at 3pm. Was planning to take the day off but now I'll just take a half day. Not sure where I want to go watch. Other than my couch. By myself. In the dark. Man, talk about the proverbial Bracket of Death.

Hey Mookie and Scarlet. Remember when I said they should just give BU the national championship a couple months ago? Well, forget it.:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

Not sure why you ever said that SFIS. Congrats on the victory. You ruined my weekend when you lost to UMD. :)

But! My high school just won the Super 8!! State champs!! Woooooo! Not sure when the last time a public school won that tournament. Made up for BU losing Friday.

Now that was cold.

My team is at noon on Saturday. Now I don't have to work on Friday. But there is a 1/2 Marathon road race with in a block of the venue starting 2 h before meaning they will not be done by the time people need to get there. Manchester is ridiculously bush when it comes to traffic getting to the rink. No cop to get traffic off the exit ramp- missed the 1st period waiting on the ramp (after i started out to be there for 45 min early) last time. I expect this to be a total CF. I may think about getting there for 8 and bringing a book.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

I don't envy BU right now. Many a MN fan were very happy not to end up in that bracket, even in the weeks leading up to the conference tourneys. That had Bracket Of Death written all over it.

Finally the end to a busy weekend. And another busy weekend coming up. Hopefully work cooperates with slower business, but I doubt it.

Walking by, overheard a snippet of a conversation in the office just now and I don't know the context.

"I'll watch your box and see if anything turns hairy."

I'm going to say they meant inbox, and hairy refers to issues arising. But I know where you went with this. 😉

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Just dropped off my dad at the airport. Sorry Hoven. We were going to bar hop on Sunday, but his arthritis was really getting to him. Seeing both my parents starting to look frail is making me really scared. Only child and everything falls on me.
