Mine was in a church. My graduating class was only 212, but we had to have a Mass, of course. So it ended up taking about 3 hours.

The only thing I vividly remember is Fr. Strasz telling me, "Calm down ((Fade)), you look like you're about to explode!" right before I walked up to get my diploma. And yes, I was admittedly on the verge of a panic attack. :o

Oh, and one of the super-rich chicks had it announced that she was going to U of MI. She actually attended MSU. :rolleyes: She now owns a bakery about 30 minutes drive from me.

Grad class of about 450. Had the all-night party at some section of some school (I honestly don't remember; that long ago). They had play-casino games where you could use your earnings to buy stuff. I still have the cooler I bought, and it's still in use and effective. But overall? The party was meh. You couldn't leave early, as all the doors were locked, and security alarm was set.

As for dress code, many wore t-shirt/shorts under the gown, I did the biz-casual thing, then changed. There was really no enforcement on the code, if there was one.

The lock in thing is BS. First, fire code. Second, they can't legally hold you if you're an adult.

You know what I mean about the lock in. Emergency? Yeah, you can get out. :rolleyes:

As for the second thing, I was 17 when I graduated. Not an adult.

IIRC, at our party, everyone started with 100 chips to play the casino games with. I bombed out of poker right away, but aced blackjack because I play the odds well enough. At the end of the night, you turned in all of your chips for raffle tickets.

That sounds about right, for end of night. I crushed on blackjack, didn't play poker in those days.

I was 18 at graduation, they couldn't keep us there. Which is why we went to TI to play real blackjack instead of stupid *** fake blackjack for tickets.

Our party was awesome. We had your standard casino games, then a bouncy house obstacle course in the gymnasium, and lastly from 2:30-4:30, when everyone is getting tired, we had a hypnotist come in and it was unbelievably funny. That was one of my favorite nights of high school.. I won a futon which was used by both me and my brother, and we still have it.

Yeah, we had the hypnotist too. I think bringing in an act like that in the wee hours is pretty standard.

We didn't have anything like these mass parties. /shrug

HS class of just under 250, ceremony in the local hockey rink (ice taken out a couple months prior. ) Individuals/families had their own grad parties, some with alcohol for grads/friends.

We had an optional all-nighter at the local community center. I was a goody-two-shoes in HS so of course I went.

Now is where I mention that my senior prom date was named Carrie. Run with that one.

My graduating class was 800+. All night party was at The Mermaid. Casino games, arcade, magician, hypnotist, bowling, darts, blah blah blah.

Still sucked.

Jr survived and is back. He had more fun than he expected. They held it at a place that has trampoline area, turf field, gyms, etc. He played soccer on the turf, they had video games and he crushed the record on Big Buck Hunter, played casino games, had a magician perform. They had a girl break a leg and another her nose on the trampolines.

At the ceremony they did have all 14 valedictorians speak, but they were brief so not too bad. Glad it was a cool day, gym still got too warm.
