Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Good morning Lodge.

30 degrees but it feels like 20. Yesterday it was 60 degrees.

Homemade carmel rolls, fruit, juice and coffee were served for breakfast.

I'm making some buffalo chicken wings at some point today. My typical recipe calls for grilling the wings. Found a new recipe that involves baking then broiling. They are going to be tasty. My wings are not over the top not. They tend to warm up and just when you think they will get over the top they mellow out.

Lazy day today. Plan to watch the Wild as they fine tune things for a deep home ice playoff run.

Mentioned this on FB, but today, running errands, saw an elderly gentleman sporting a Q sweatshirt. Casually did the "hey, nice sweatshirt, man!" He was SO confused as he said, "Thanks!" I am sure he had no idea how the hell I knew who the Q was.
Be honest... would that have happened 5 years ago?

Fine, it was humorous to me.
Maybe he was confused by the messenger and not the message... ;)

5 years ago? Yeah. 10? No.

And maybe. I wasn't sporting Gopher gear at the time. If I was, maybe the reaction would have been different.

I think Chris Rock did a good job with the opening. I'm not much of a movie watcher so that's all I have to offer. :)

They should just tack on another hour or so to the program instead of playing the winners off so quick. That or just give the presenters less time to ham it up before they get down to business.

And happy for Leo. He deserved it, if not for this movie, for his career. And so ends an internet meme/joke.

Eddie Redmayne probably deserved it off these performances alone, but there was no way they were not giving it to Leo while giving it to someone back to back. Not upset, the guy deserves it. Now we can all move on.

The Oscars are full of "s/he deserved it" (See: Scorcese). It happens. Just happy to see someone finally get his.

I agree, though I thought it was unlikely he'd have back to back wins (even though he was fantastic in both roles).
