The boy got asked to play in a midget major tourney this weekend. His coach is the coach of the Minnesota Iron Rangers - a tier 2 Canadian junior team out of Hoyt Lakes and some of their players are also on the team.

First game was today and he did well in a victory. Didn't have an assist, but finished a check that led to a turnover and a goal.

Been over a month since I got to see him play in a real game.


Yeah hockey!


Now I'm porchin' it with a Margarita.

Had a "work" day at my boss' house - once a quarter we get together offsite to goof off, grill up lunch, and work on pet projects that aren't on the daily agenda (but mostly goof off).

Boss spent the winter building a really nice private bar in his basement mancave, with antique wood reclaimed from Detroit ruins, Edison-style light fixtures, recessed accent lighting on the bar shelves, etc. He did a great job, though his wife is not exactly thrilled with the pricetag - he orignally budgeted $1500, and between tools and materials, he has spent closer to $15,000. :D

Hey, neighbor kid plays for the Rangers. Is Madison on the team? I thought I saw him around the hood yesterday but not sure. Good kid

I'll ask the boy.

Ours is the only team of the 16 that there isn't a printed roster for, so I don't have names.
 
Morning Lodge. Sitting in the car in the bb_DL family farm field. Jr is at the edge of the woods hoping a turkey will come to his decoys so Jr can kill him. It's more comfy in the car and I have book and oj and muffins I made last night.
