Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)
Good Night, MH14! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

I hope so. Still have the chilly nights, even down here.

You are correct sir! Once the sun when down it cooled off rapidly.

I have a pretty wicked wood stove. Typically a wood stove made for a tent is a pain in the azz. They are small, not very energy efficient and every couple hours you have to maintain them. Last night around 11:00 I stoked it up and then I adjusted the damper. Got up about 5 am to "go shake the governors hand" and it was about 55 degrees in the tent. The stove had an impressive bed of coals. I stoked the stove and now the fire is roaring. Coffee is brewing on the stove and I am also cooking up a egg bake for breakfast.

For those of you keeping score from home. Nature is in full gear this morning. Loons, ducks, owls, various birds and the coyotes are all singing this morning.

Best part about camping, IMO. Heck, even in suburbia where I am, you can hear owls and birds singing away (since I'm by a creek, there's a little more wildlife than usual). I love it.

This is a new one on me. Between this and the FB enlightenment about keeping the obligatory one urinal space I am learning all sorts of things this week......

It is Lil's BD today. He was 21 inches when he came out. I think that is how big his feet are now (well, not quite but you get the picture). I have to totally bend my head back to talk to him.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Good sunny morning from beautiful sun-splashed Orlando, Florida!

Or something like that... :D

Either the clientele of Disney has gone down in general since I was last here, or Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi are all on Spring Break concurrently. Holy "People of Walmart" going on down here.

And, no honey, you're not "disabled" because you can't push back from the table and walking 20 feet makes you faint. Put down the waffle cone and get up off that scooter.

Because we are rotten people, we started counting the scooter riders who were not actually disabled and awarding extra points if they were eating a funnel cake, had a she-mullet etc...

That's what Disney's all about, no?

:D

Count the number of older children, obese, who are in strollers being pushed. We lost count and moved to who could find the tallest. There were more than a few who were taller than I am when they stood up.

Again, because I'm a rotten person, I've caught myself thinking more than once, "No, you're daughter's not an actual princess, she just looks like she ate one."

Quite the culture shock from St. Lucia.

I found it amazing how quickly I went from being somewhat courteous to fat scooter rednecks to pretty much hostile toward them.

The governor thing and with the correct crowd .........after finishing business I would typically say "yep, he's still a pri ck". :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Yes, last night was fun. Thanks to Scarlet and mookie for the hospitality! Both me and my wifey had a great time.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Good morning Lodge. I'm a bit of a nervous wreck.......excited and anxious......hope to get through the day without freaking out. I also have a bit of a headache. I can't deal with that today. At least the sun is out!

I have no idea why that would be.

I just realized I've been watching this team for 20 years.

I have nothing against BU but to me PC is a such a tremendous a feel good story it will be hard not to cheer for the Friars. Doesn't hurt a friend/co-worker relives the loss to BG every day and would love to have the opportunity to tell him congrats.

https://jasonhamilton.me/essays/the-urinal-game-applies-to-all-aspects-of-life/

It's an article. Safe to click. And, it links to a game based on urinal spacing.

And no talk is recommended. If one must speak, minimal small talk about sports or women is allowed ("How about those BoSox?" "You see that hot brunette by the bar?") etc.
