Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

Good morning Lodge. Need to head out food shopping. Getting snow late today/tonight. I have an 8:30 dentist appointment tomorrow. Ugh. I hope it ends like they're predicting at 5am or so. I think I'll put my car in the T garage again so I don't have to waste time clearing it off in the morning.

Good Morning Lodge.

Well, at least the Wild put me at the HHT after last night. And I made reservations for Jr and I to go to the BWCA right after school gets out for him, now to work on getting in shape for it. Oh yeah, I got a job offer on Friday too. Waiting to see what the full package is, but leaning toward taking it.

Just watched the Ronda Rousey fight from last night on youtube. JFC. She's a beast. Headed off to my niece's bday party. Then finishing off the House Of Cards season.

I think my size and strength would let me last longer that 14 seconds with her, but I have my doubts on making it out of the first round with her.

She'd whup yer arse in 14 seconds, assuming you weren't running away fast enough.

I am going to try and attempt reserving some camping spots later today. Not the BWCA but we are going to hit quite a few state and federal spots this spring, summer and fall.. We will pretty much cover a large part of the state and a few days in SD. Currently have about 26 days set aside for camping.

I am planning on taking the little g's to the X next weekend if Bemidji plays for some hardware.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

So a couple of weeks ago Vera and her gal pals decided to make some waffles. One of them brought over her waffle iron, and away they went. I noticed the waffle iron on the counter, figured her friend would be around to pick it up at some point. What I didn't notice is that it was still dirty, as I never opened the thing up. This morning Vera remembered that it hadn't been cleaned and decided to do so. Unfortunately that meant turning it on, and the house now has the most incredibly foul smell that just won't dissipate. Opening windows, spraying air deodorizers, lighting candles? All worthless. Might be a long night.

Just don't be like one 85 year old lady in the city that I work in. She got up one morning, decided she wanted to make a waffle, got everything running, and, I don't know, maybe Matlock was on or something. She completely forgot about the waffle and burned down the entire kitchen and half the rest of the house.

Just cleaned it as much as we could and put it out in the garage. Candles are finally starting to overtake the stench.

Never said I would be running right into that little ball of fury either. I would be backing up, trying to keep her out her reach.

Speaking of tough s o b's. I took the boys swimming at the YMCA today. Brock Lesnar, his wife Sable and their kids were swimming there as well. Very nice people but f an a he could snap me in half with ease.

Brock is a friggin' beast. The man has no neck. When he made his WWE debut years ago, even people who saw him that bulk were amazed.

Sorry to disappoint the lil g's, but pretty sure any hardware the Jacks go after will be in Mariucci, not the X. All the Consolation Round Games are still played at Mariucci, I believe. :p

Fun fact: for, at least Garrett Wait, and I believe many of the other Edina juniors and some seniors, they have never finished a travel hockey season except with a State Title. As a first year PW, Garrett was on PWB1 Green who beat Edina PWB1 White for the title (Edina A team also won State). Second year he was a PWA who won state. First year Bantam they won State BA title. Second year they started Bantam AA and Edina won that. As a sophomore last year, of course, they won State HS title. Minnesota has Squirts only play up to District titles, no State tourney for them.

Good morning Lodge. Greetings from my dentist's waiting room. Got here early. We got 2-3" overnight and thankfully the roads were pretty clear. Glad I didn't have to re-schedule.
