Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww. My new position was supposed to provide me with less hours. It's netted me way more (although still getting out earlier than if I hadn't switched; that was another main goal).

That's nice.

Even though the nights and weekends thing stinks, what makes it terrible is the rotating schedule. I only get two days off in a row every other weekend. It looks like this:

Work Monday Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday off, work Friday Saturday Sunday Monday, Tuesday off, work Wednesday Thursday Friday, Saturday and Sunday off, repeat.

This gig might not last as long as I initially thought, and I went into it never intending make a career of it.

Rotating schedules are the devil. The devil. Honestly, how are you supposed to live a somewhat normal life working that?

Vera is hating it. Which makes me hate it even more. I now see why most of the people there are involved with someone else that works there, or another Menards.

We may still be hiring. Give it a shot. At least it's a M-F sched.

Now that was a kickass concert. 7 rows from the stage on the floor. Pretty awesome seats.

Ya, especially short stints like that.

My schedule isn't ideal, working 4 weeks straight, but then at least I get 2 weeks off.

I played watersports yesterday afternoon. 1 more day of watersports. Home tomorrow.

Target did rotating schedules right, for those of us who got them.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday off
Sunday off, Monday, Tuesday off, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Repeat.

Fixed day off during the week, every other weekend off.

Greetings from Albany NY Lodge! Here for the first leg of a road trip to some of our local offices. We have gymnast Nastia Liukin with us today. Looking forward to meeting her.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Job interview in Minneapolis this morning. This was the job I declined a year ago. If they offer it to me again, I am taking it. I am sick of dealing with the CEO at my current job.

Charlie Coyle was there. Did you see him????
I don't think I'd recognize him...

Back to work. That was a short night. Yawn.

He played Carolina! This is the 5th show I've been to and the first time he's played Carolina, it is probably my second favorite song of his, so that was pretty sweet. Church shows are just so much fun, all around. It is 2 straight hours of energy, and the crowd really gets into it. I think I have mentioned it before, but when you're at one of his shows you can tell how much passion he has for what he does, how much he loves it, and that really adds to the experience.

So I had to get into the office early today in order to test some changes to a reporting tool used within a couple of our applications. While I was in the office 90 minutes early for this, it was only about 3 minutes of actual, real work - and I'm using "work" very loosely here. At any rate, my boss's boss sends me an email after my confirmation notice went out about thanks, that was a great job, really appreciated. The irony of it all is that we'll bust our humps for months on a task and not get so much as a nod from the man when we have something complete, but a quick test begets effusive praise. Just weird.

Crap. They want me to teach a class, just one session, at Tech when I am up there is 3 weeks. Is this the "big time"?
