Starcraft 2 is somewhat akin to a chess match, although obviously not turn based. Build up an economy (minerals and gas are your "money"), buy up an army, and go take out the other guy's base. You win by destroying your opponent's buildings.

Oh, the part I saw was all things zooming back and forth seemingly doing nothing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I was envisioning cheesy songs like "The Best Around" from Karate Kid and a nerd who's been beaten down spending hours in his room scheming and finally finding the key to the game so he can win the All Valley Online Games. :D

PS - Don't take that as a knock on the Karate Kid - which is a classic "80s" movie.

Pfft. Starcraft. E sport my azz. You and me and my Atari 2600. Combat. Prepare to get owned. :D

I have ZERO respect for anyone who uses the term "e-sports" seriously. Video games are not sports, "e" or not.

Feel good about my two exams tomorrow. As soon as he second is done, off to minneapolis for the night for Eric Church. Can't wait. His set list includes a bunch of good older songs too, which I'm pleased about.

You mean the probes or SCVs? Those are the workers that gather the minerals and gas. They, like pawns in chess, are the soul of the game.

Agreed. It would be like calling Call of Duty, e-war. Or something like that.

Oh geez, that's hardly war. That's just moving around and shooting stuff. Instincts only, hardly any skill. Or, as certain people in DC call it, illegitimate training. At least SC has strategy in battle plans.

So do Monopoly and Risk, yet no one tries to convince us that "board sports" are a thing....:p

See you there.
