Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I rarely use google or do anything on the internet except look at FB, the school website and here. Once in awhile I get into a dead people kick and research family genealogy. Oh, and I post about 50K of pics a yr on snapfish. On FB if it says I need to share my info to look at something or participate I X out. I post there very rarely. Mostly I keep up with the family pics of babies I wouldn't get to see otherwise.

If I switch to Google Chrome what happens to all my favorites?

I'd imagine it has an import function for favorites. Easiest thing to do if you consider switching is to install Chrome and try it while still keeping your other browser until you are sure it works as expected.

Also, how do you do genealogy research? Do you pay those sites or are they more free resources? I used and paid for Ancestry.com for a month or two and it was worthwhile. But they are too expensive to continue paying.

I have ancestry international but if you are on the hunt in a specific location or family name many of those have websites. There are a lot of sites for Scottish stuff I found and lost with one of my crashes :( If you are ever stuck and need something I have the full edition of ancestry and can look stuff up for you.

My problem is that my fathers side of the family is from an area of Czechoslovakia that had its records hall destroyed (thanks ww!). So after my grandparents its a dead end as far as i can see. Also doesn't help that those generations are all passed away.

Post on the ancestry board. I was contacted by my Great GF's sister's grandson in Sweden. We had lost all contact before my father who is 80 was born. Pretty cool.

Apparently Aaron Paul is someone? He's in an Xbox ad and I was like what role were you in?

Thanks Google for answering that question!

Yes, it does have an import function for favorites.

I really have to join Ancestry, but I have neglected doing so for years mainly because most of their material is US, and most of the rest appears to deal with the United Kingdom. The only relevant exception you helped me with some time ago which is Bavarian WW-I military records. I suspect that I would find a lot of distant cousins in American records who disappear from the German records -- at least the ones with uncommon family names.

Are you being facetious or did you really not know? And don't let Brent or bbdl hear that you have no idea who he is!!!

Went outside for lunch today. My boss isn't here nor is her boss. It's a gorgeous day. Glad to take a little bit of a break.

I had no idea. I thought he was annoying on the ad. So I had my fiancée Google "guy in xbox one ad" to find out.

in that ad is the first time I'd ever seen the guy, too. I know his name, but I have no idea who he is -- why he's famous.

Speaking of BB. I drove by (and stopped to take a picture) the carwash from Breaking Bad today. I googled it and saw that it was only a few blocks from the place my coworker wanted to have breakfast.

Done with work today. Everything for training is set, now we just have to wait for tomorrow morning.

You only;y need to ask!! ALso most libraries have the library edition which shows a fair amount. You have to be in the library to use it but you can email docs to yourself off of it. I did that for about a yr before I caved and bought the deluxe version.

Good evening Lodge.

Took a digger pumping up my bicycle tire this morning (don't ask me how). Pretty sure the nail on my big toe is toast. Ouch. F an a type ouch.

Beautiful day today. Sunny and about 80 degrees with a slight breeze. Spent most of the day on the lake.

I've found the process to be much easier (and safer) when I stop the bike & set it on its kickstand prior to filling the tire with air.
But, that's just me. :)
