Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Just got out of a presentation where IT was going over the new computers that we're going be getting later this year. They were covering the process for deployment, and the changes from this current version to the new one. And the good news is, people have pulled their heads out of their asses on 2 different items!!!! First, we're moving from godforsaken Lotus Notes to Outlook, second, the default internet browser is changing from IE to Firefox. YES!!!!!

Your IT department gave a presentation on that? I've never heard of such a thing before. I don't think any company I've ever worked for has had its IT department give a presentation. It's generally released in an email and then it's up to you to read and get informed.

Converting Lotus to Outlook is a pita. Especially if your email have attachments in notes. But good that you are getting off that software.

Yep, an hour and a half presentation and question/answer session. It was pretty helpful.

And I don't know what it takes to do all of this stuff. I know engines. Computers and software and email providers are way outside of my area of expertise.

I didn't know Lotus Notes still existed.

FTBG - sorry I missed you. Your incoming gate was too far from my departing gate!

Finding out that late January...Rube/RubetteV.2 will be introduced to the world.

Keep this off Facebook. Crossover is not wanted.
Thanks for posting this here after I find out yesterday...for once my wife is mad I don't spend much time in this part of the boards anymore! Congrats.

I figured you were just lurking and saw it then. :o Some friends that are not on here or GPL were PMed or told in person beforehand. I figured between the two hockey boards, I covered everyone else. :)

Finally got all my Comcast crap figured out. 1 week of phone calls and bullsh* and a tech visit (which was free, of course). All because some moron at Comcast fried everything because 1) they didn't properly downgrade my cable/upgrade my internet service and 2) they don't know crap about anything, so they played the "let me transfer you" game.

I got some credits out of it, etc, but wasn't worth the hassle.

At least I have superfast internet now.

A large MN based tacky & abrasive company is still on Lotus. Oh the joy....

Would that be Target??

;)

Staying at The Broadmoor here in COS this trip. It's swanky! But their lack of directional signage made it difficult to find my room. Then, while in my lovely room overlooking Cheyenne Lake who do I see walk by? Former Terrier Head Coach Jack Parker and his wife. Ran outside to say hi. Turns out he's being honored at a USA Hockey conference tomorrow night. He said he would see about getting me in. I'm going to reach out to USA Hockey as well. I met with them the last time I was here, we have a partnership with them too. Those of you that remember Quizmire, she was planning to come down here to meet me anyway. Hope we can both go!

The Broadmoor is indeed swanky. While I haven't stayed there, I've stopped by. Hope you get into the hockey thing!

He has. He says he still lurks once in a while, but life is keeping him busy. I think he's at an out of town wedding this weekend.
