Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Somehow I posted a post answering Scarlet and it never posted.

Scarlet- about the back thing- First- backs are very tricky and many providers aren't comfortable with them. Agree, sort of, with goldy- some providers do a crappy job of taking care of backs because to do it right it takes time and you need to know what you are doing. The back guys we have here specialize in just backs and would never just hand someone a paper. They also will refer to chiropractor and PT. That said...

The advice I give my patients is start with primary just to keep them in the loop. Chiropractors are first line treatment according to the World Health Org. Frequently they solve the issue. Beware that some of them will try to tell you they can solve your whole life, you need to have adjustments for life, etc. Mine thinks these guys are shysters. See if you can find a chiro that has a reciprocal relationship with an ortho. Mine referred me to my ortho who did a full work up and referred me right back

PT is great for learning how to do things for prevention

Massage therapy is what saved me. I go every 2 weeks. If I don't go then I am a mess. When I go, it keeps me loose enough (get your collective minds out of the gutter) that I can function. When I don't I get blinding headaches from occipital nerve stuff. I tell a lot of people to get massage regularly. It keeps you more limber than if you stretch alone.

Sorry for the delay!
this!

Thanks les. I will look into it. Just checked into this hotel for a conference and it has a nice spa so I may see what kind of massage I can get. What about the ice vs. heat question? Do you use either?

Here in Salt Lake City. It's kinda chilly and rainy. This hote is beautiful, as is my room and I want to take a nap on the comfy bed instead of going to a keynote lunch and afternoon of sessions.

ice if pain at rest, heat if pain when active then ice after activity

Hey y'all. After studying some this morning I went back to bed to try and recharge my body for the next 36 hours until I'm done. Feeling more tired, of course.:p

I really don't think mookie and les are talking about the same thing!

Don't let les fool you..........;)

Good evening Lodge.

Today was my first day back in the office since my surgery last Friday. Mistake. Should have stayed home.

Just finalized plans to take the boys camping over Memorial Day weekend. We leave Thursday night and will return Monday evening.

First weekend since Rubette and I started dating that there is no school to worry about (even on break, she had stuff to prepare for). Looking forward to it.

And if it does storm tomorrow, I hope it's a doozie. I want green skies and sirens a-blarin'.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I was awakened at 3:30 this morning to thunderstorms, including a couple close lightning strikes. I'd prefer not to have that tonight.

83 here tomorrow before T-storms on Friday.

We had some awesome storms tonight. Hail and all. The lightening was extravagant.

My apt faces the west, and oftentimes I can see the storm coming. It's awesome. I don't want any damage, I just want a good storm.
