*HT, but expected it. Night out with the boys (soh, bbdl, MNS, Shirtless). bbdl was cutoff by 10:15 after ordering one drink, and dropping it on the floor. Honestly surprised he was served at all. Yep. Classic. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Yeah that was fun. Brent was almost hit by a car again, too. I'm glad he wasn't though, but only because it was my car. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Good Morning Lodge! :) Greetings from the *HT.

It was nice being away from there for a while, but I see that the gruel is still being served, and the beer is still warm.

Morning, Lodge.

Wow, win one game, and the Schenectadopes turn into a bunch of egotistical wankers.

Ralph, all you had to do was ask me, and you wouldn't have to have that crud. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I came down with it Wednesday. 102 fever, pounding headache, nasty body aches, sore throat, chills etc. I have never experienced anything like this before. Went to the doc Thursday and she gave me tamiflu. Really felt it kick in yesterday afternoon and this morning I feel much better. Now I just have the cruddy cough and what not. Doc also prescribed tamiflu for the rest of the family as a precaution.

I did have some Oxycodone. That helped take the edge off things for a bit.

I'm glad BSU won't be playing the goofers this weekend. Don't want our pair wise to suck anymore than it has to. :D
No Tamiflu is available in this area at all. As in none. First day in 3 days I have a fever under 101. Sicker than I have ever been. Not even enough energy to read a book :(

I always wondered what one can do for those with access... I know that its been mentioned that some med people have the easy access to the hangover cure... intravenous rehydration.

Colds and flus are still colds and flus... but what if somebody said "eff this, I'm not going to feel like crap"... anyhoo.
NO magic for this. :(

And *HT the wheels on the bus came off. Suddenly obvious we are playing with a bunch of Freshmen who lose their composure. Poo to L'alliance.

And Mr just got up and came down wearing flannel PJ bottoms. He is 'cold'. Uh oh.

It is amazing how HokyDad disappears when Union loses and shows up when they win. I have the hardest time understanding why he has not been banished from USCHO. Ever since he attacked Luke Curadi while he was still in the USHL, he has posted nothing positive about RPI. Granted that there are negatives about RPI's program, but even Mussolini got the trains to run on time. :)

First day in 3 days I have a fever under 101.
I left work at noon on Friday feeling like I had a fever. Friday night it was about 100 but I had all the other flu symptoms. Yesterday was horrible. Hot flashes, cold sweats, aches and pains... even my hair hurt. I slept the majority of the day and by last night all the fever symptoms went away. So far today I'm still a bit achy but otherwise feeling much better. Just in time for snowmageddon to start tomorrow.

Yeah, no kidding. If anyone wants to view the Union thread, I'm willing to provide popcorn. Free for members of tLodge. :D

Jeez, we're supposed to get 1-3 feet of snow this week. 1-3 feet!!!! Guess we're getting all our snow this winter all at once. Ugh.

Started with a little cough and congestion Wed night. By Thursday felt like a truck ran me over but was covering the practive by myself. Limped thru the day. BY Thursday night fever >102 on Tylenol that didn't break for anything until this AM but now it is back. I look like a Nyquil commercial- fever, sneezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes, cough... Had the Flu shot but not effective obviously. If I am going to be stabbed it should work dammmmnit!

I have had the flu shot 2 out of the last 4 years. The 2 years I have had the flu shot I have gotten sicker than hell. I'm sure the professionals will say it's coincidence but I'm not sold........

Also, when I went to the doc earlier this week I asked why I was so sick even though I got the flu shot. Doc response? "Oh the flu shot doesn't protect against this strain of flu." So I asked, "why all the pressure that everyone needs to get a flu shot?" She started to explain the how's and whys. I get it and I realize that certain people in our population need certain protections.

Within my profession I sit in on credit presentations of large businesses (hospitals and clinics included). They run just like other businesses and need to turn a profit. Now I know at face value medical professionals want what's best for the patient. However, I see he other side of the business. I see the side of the business that tracks expenses and revenue. I see how detailed the revenue expectations are. Details that break down profit and loss per doc per patient visit. It's eye opening. Bottom line, Docs are required to generate revenue. They generate revenue by pushing test$, pushing drug$ and moving quickly to the next patient$.

With that being stated, the g family has been surrounded by wonderful professionals regarding little g. Without them the little g story would be very different. However, we are always pushing back if we feel tests or medication or procedures are not required.

No offense les. Just my .02 worth in a nut shell.

Seems as though Hokydad has finally gotten his "deseverings". ;)

I am impressed. Does that mean all I had to do was post it here and it happens? I can't believe that board never noticed him before since he has posted on various threads.
