Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)
Howdy Lodge. Last day in the office this week - hooray! Have post work plans tonight to meet my frieds for our annual Christmas drinks and gift exchange. We usually get small gifts for hottie bartender and the other guys. I did some online shopping Saturday as I was too lazy to get off my couch and shop. Everyone tells me how online shopping is the way to go. I never have a good experience, I don't find it easier at all. But, I thought I'd give it a whirl. I ordered gifts for my friends and those showed up Tuesday night. For the bartenders, I got a promoted Tweet from a company that was featured on Shark Tank and when you both the item, they donated the same to the homeless. Thought it was kind of cool, so I checked them out and ordered and paid for expedited shipping so I would get by yesterday. Get home and no items. Called the company, since there was no way to track the order online, and the Customer Happiness Representative (not lying) says "Yup, we have your order and it's ready to ship Thursday." Um no, I NEED it for Thursday. I asked for expedited shipping. He looks, notices that, then says "We've told them to take that down from the site because we can never honor that during the holidays." Okey dokey then. I told him I needed it for today so please cancel my order. They did. But this is why I don't shop online. I NEVER have a good experience.
Before we meet up there I have another department holiday shindig. This one is for the head of the new department we've been moved to with the re-org last week. It starts at 4 and is thankfully right across the street from where I need to be at 4:45-ish. So I will make an appearance and then politely excuse myself.
