Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

While some poeople might think me a bad man, it's hilarious, she'll go off at anyone and everyone. Based on the chatter of some people following me onto the bus, today she was going after someone for smoking outside. Other times I've seen her pull out the bullhorn for people in their cars who don't give right away to pedestrians. It's always good for a laugh because I don't think she has any concept of how distorted her voice is form the horn, and that people in their cars can't hear her anyway. Yes, with regards to the car thing, she's absolutely correct, but it's not going to do her much good.

Too funny!
And it's good she has a hobby. :)

Finally got back into the swing in the poker world, although it is only for play money. Yes, there are some who actually still try and play good poker even though it's only for pride and playchips. I KNOW! I be happy about that.

Long week at work, and not just mentally. Physically it's been a rough one. Gonna enjoy the weekend, that's for sure.

It would sure be fun to get a poker night thing going once a month, or once every-other month. I don't want to play for big money or anything, a moderate amount of buy in, just play among friends, drink some beer. I think it would be a blast.

We used to do that the Wed or Thu before the F5. It was either $5 or $10 buy-in, and top two won the money. It was quite fun.

We could do it every 1st/2nd/3rd/4th Saturday of the month, among all extended friends, so we don't feel obligated to be there every time, and there is still enough of a group to play. I just think it would be a helluva good time. Play cards, drink beers, BS for a night, what could go wrong?

I used to be part of a poker night, it was every Monday. One little twist (there were always 5-7 people, $20 buy in): the winner bought pizza the next week (about half the winnings at most). It was a blast. We all played online or live for money on the side anyway, so there was some good poker to be had, once we got to "know" how all the others played. :)

I'd be up for poker night.

With this group, a lot but now that a bunch of you have been civilized possibly a little less.

When it comes to poker, it's a lot like love and war. All is fair. :D

I suggest the Razz variation of poker. :D :D :D

We should try to work out the details on Saturday, and see if we could actually get something going.

****, I really like the new Church single(s). Give Me Back My Hometown is amazing, and the yet unreleased, but I heard it at the Church/Strait concert, A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young is just as good, if not better. He just keeps bringing it.

Not looking forward to tomorrow. One of our dogs hasn't been herself for the past month, and hadn't been eating much, and now doesn't look like she's eating anything now. Doesn't help that she's also at least 13 years old as well. Pretty sure I'm going to have to take her to the vet tomorrow. Then I'm going to go dig a hole. Not looking forward to having to dig thru frost. :(

I'd consider a trip up for something like this..

Don't you act like that's a bad thing! A good friend of mine sometimes go up and play at Canterbury. He's big into it, I just enjoy it. I'll play every ice in awhile online.

Just found out about Irish Poker. I think it's dealt like Omaha. Get four cards, discard two before flop, then play. And go.....I could really like this game....
