Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I've actually been fighting to stay awake these last two days in the office. Only a few people are in the office, and all of us in the office have found it difficult to stay on task because nobody has any real hard deadlines coming up.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I got the proofs for my paper, I'm reviewing it now. Besides small things I'm wondering who could possibly read this with a fresh eye to catch anything stupid... and I think I've ran out of people. Even non-technical folks. Sigh.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

And since you are driving, did you have one for the ditch? It IS Wisconsin after all. :p

No ditches. City driving while inhaling SC Johnson fumes. Just ran over a few meters and that was it.

BUT!!! You're married. All those "my" became "our"!!! :D

Would you really want to claim Wisconsin as "our" territory? Would you? It is safer to keep it as "my" territory. :D

Finally back home in Minnesota. Forgot how much one of my cousins can talk...I'm not 100% sure she took a breath the last couple days...

All checked in at cityslickerville.

En route to the Timberwolves game. The little g's are pumped. Even though it's my first wolves game I'm not overly excited to watch a bouncy ball game. Oh well, we will have a blast regardless.

Well?!?!? What

From my understanding, so this might not be exactly right, but you get the gist...the old battery didn't have enough oomph to get the gas going, so you have a one-shot chance in fuel-injected vehicles to floor the gas pedal, then turn the ignition to get it to start, which I did. Something about flooring it stops the fuel injection thingy and it goes manually (or something). Didn't work. However, when the new battery was installed, it does have enough oomph to get the gas going, so we figured it flooded the engine. After waiting a bit, crap got cleared out, and it started up.

Slow day at work. Really slow. Cut 4 people by noon, another 2 by 3pm, and I left at 4:30. There were maybe 6-7 people left at that point. My guess is they were all out by 5:30, which is not even an 8-hour day.

Long weekend coming up, thankfully I don't have to do anything when that bitter cold hits on Sun night/Mon morn. I get to stay in my cozy apt and be lazy. :)

Happy Birthday FadeToBlack&Gold!!

Lil is racing today. Have to qualify for this meet. He ran the qualifying time back in July. Nervous. Only the second race of the season. Saying a prayer.

Good morning Lodge.

Currently 30 degrees in cityslickerville.

Back home they are in a blizzard warning. Wind chills may reach -45. The high on Friday was 37.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Good morning Lodge. Back at the dealer early this morning. An hour after I drove it out of the service area my tire pressure light came on. I pushed the button to reset/turn it off/whatever and it came back on 10 minutes later. They balanced my tires so I'm blaming the service guys for doing something to them, causing the light to come on. It's Saturday on my vacation. I should be asleep now, not here.

My family and I are planning to go to either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun today and I'm supposed to drive. It probably wouldn't be an issue but I didn't want to take a chance on an issue far from home on a weekend.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

So we're at this HS tourney here in Rochester (MN)....

A big group of us parents are in the bar last night and a table of guys which includes a couple of guys with Sioux stuff on calls me over and asks me where we're from coz they suspect that we are the next's days opponent. Sure enough, we play Fargo South tomorrow. They are some of the assistant coaches.

How's your season, how's the tourney going etc. Turns out their second game didn't go so well once they started getting in a "little" penalty trouble (their words).

How many penalties I ask thinking 5 or 6 and the other team potted a couple of pp goals.

16 penalties. At that point one of them says that they were afraid that their coach couldn't be on the bench for the next game but luckily the cutoff is at 17.

You can take the boys out of North Dakota but you can't take... :D

Just thought it was pretty funny considering the perceptions around these parts. Would have only been better if they had been playing a Minnesota team instead of Eau Claire Memorial.

Nice tourney btw. First taste on HS hockey in this state and there's a definite buzz around the 4 rinks. There are 24 teams here. Very cool. :)
