Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Ugh. After yesterday morn's post, went out to start up the Jeep. Nope. Figured it was outside all night, might need a jump. Battery to Jeep and battery to Madre's car on opposite sides of where we need to be for a jump. Push Jeep into street for space for Madre's car to line up right. Jump doesn't work. UGH. Try and push Jeep into garage. Not happening. Try to push Jeep with Madre's car into garage. Her car is plastic. Bad idea, not working. Recruit neighbor she knows for help push. It's not enough help. Get two more neighbors to help push. That's enough help, got it into garage.

This morning, go to auto place at 7:30am (opens then), get new battery. Install battery. Try to start 'er up. Nope. Uh oh. Call brother, who gives some tips/tricks/hints as to fix this/what other prob it could be. Do those. Nope. It's now 8:15, I'm 30 minutes away from work, and I need a tow and I start at 9. Also find out they can't fix Jeep until Monday, b/c of how busy they are (small town, there's one shop). Call boss, tell him I may be late. Call tow truck. Notice I only have one bar on my cell phone, no charger. Uh oh.

Get pi*ed. Out of frustration, I continue to try and start Jeep, figuring it can't hurt any now. After about 5-6 minutes of that....Christmas Miracle, it turns over and I now have a running Jeep. Whewwwwwwwwwwwwww. Even made it to work on time.

Finally home after a couple days, and it feels grand.

Anchorman 2? :D

Saw Saving Mr. Banks and American Hustle. Both very good. Finally back at my place. It was lightly snowing all day and kind of icy as well. A few days ago, the forecast was sunny and cold. So of course that didn't happen.

Oil change tomorrow and off to see my goddaughter to give her her Christmas and birthday presents.

Should be leaving the dock here in Texas in the next hour or 2, headed east and then north. Booked my flights for the winter classic yesterday, NOLA to Detroilet ((c) bbdl), then back to Birmingham. Was able to use Southwest reward points for trip north, and credit card points for trip south. Means I paid for just 2 trips this year :).

Can. Not. Wait. For the winter classic.

In other news, my Captain is going to find himself without a deck crew if he keeps up his antics. Really being a PITA to everybody, and he isn't fooling anybody.

Good Morning Lodge.

This morning had to not only unlock the door, but turn on the lights when I got here. That never happens. Do people think it's a holiday or something?

Did it start up right away when you left work?

It did. Talked with my brother, and we figured out what happened, and it's fine now.

It's going to be dead today at work. Yesterday started rough, b/c of all the carryover on Tue when we didn't work, but we still got out early. Now the question is, do I want to be bored to death and get paid, or start my weekend early?

Good Morning, Lodge!

Nothing like taking Mr. to the barber and being served Bloody Marys. Only in Wisconsin.

OK, I understand you getting served Bloody Marys, after all, it's Wisconsin. But why does a grown man need his wife to take him to the barber?

My car, my territory, my rules. Also, we were meeting up with my Dad for lunch after the haircut.

You're having Hairy Bloody Marys? It sounds like a bad porn spoof title.

That sounds like the European release.

You didn't know that? It was supposed to be outside last year but the NHL lockout ruined that. I think my cousin is going, he's there visiting his sister for Xmas. Looks like it will be a nice day for it.
