Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

My brother and me did the Christmas thing with Dad today. He liked the shirts I got him featuring his favorite, Uncle Si. From him we both got a 18V Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit from Porter Cable. Not really sure why he thinks we both really needed a set other than he thinks we should both move out of the house, but I don't think either one of us have any plans on doing that anytime soon. Still, having a cordless drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw, and a big flashlight will come in handy here on the farm, especially since we've missed having his around and have had to borrow his a few times already for a few little projects. Opened up one set, might just try to take the second one that's still all in the unopened box to sears for a refund or exchange. Just don't have a gift receipt for it.

In rural Delano, where it has been quite the windy heavy snowfall. We decided to crash out here, rather than my place (Christmas Story marathon, Madre has no cable). Sooooooo a double feature of Predator and Road House it is!

Good evening Lodge.

And just like that it's over.

When little g opened his present with the Vikings ticket he nearly jumped out of his shorts. Awesome.

Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny ****ing Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white *** down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of *******s this side of the nuthouse.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I was at my oldest brother's house tonight. His daughter started bawling me out for picking on her more than any of her cousins. Again. It's time for her to grow up and get over it, despite the lack of merit to her whining. She turns 23 in a few days. Sheesh. Other than that it was a good night with my brother and his in-laws. I even received a couple gifts tonight, which surprised me. It's been years since I've received any gifts at all and just didn't expect them at all.

Gifts are now wrapped, although one is now missing. I'm almost certain to have arthritis in my knees no later than tomorrow morning.

Good morning Lodge.

The little g's bounced out of bed just before 6 am this morning to find out what Santa left them. Santa left little gII a Darth Vader action figure. Quote of the day by little gII....."why did Santa get me a bad guy for Xmas?" :)

Its a Christmas Miracle, my power came back on. Thanks to the CMP linemen and the Asphlund tree guys for working on Christmas and Eve to get the power on again.

Good to hear that.

I hope that Adam doesn't hear that some tree guys were fooling around with Eve. ;)

The plow and shovel guys came through the neighborhood today before 7:00. That's some bad luck for those boys with the snowfall's timing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Merry Christmas to all! So far, my dad and I are the only people vertical. Give it another hour or so before the beer starts flowing.

Yo.
Headed back into town soon for the family's official Christmas celebration. From the sounds of it we made the right decision to hunker in last night. The visibility wasn't good at all last night out here in the flatlands, and with me basically driving a box in higher winds is never fun.

And I am going to strangle the 4-wheeler/plow that came through here last night at 2am. Sounded like an army of chainsaws rolling through.

Bah... ...humbug.
Where is the ghost of Christmas past?

Just don't talk to her at all then she can complain you pay more attention to everyone else.

That is great!

Did the Mass thing with the FIL last night then to my Auntie's for a little Christmas Eve gather with just the 3 of us and her neighbor. Then to Church at her church and home

The neighbor is 84ish, looks maybe 60 and walks 4-5 miles a day. She is a clip. My Godmum is almost 80 and still all over the place. It is wonderful that we all get together but sad at the same time. When my other Auntie was alive we would have the house packed with people from church and family. She invited everyone. Now no one is left. My cousin (older generation) passed this past yr. My cousin (my generation) decided to host just her family leaving the outliers out. Of course we are invited but it is over 1/1 2 h away. Auntie's is in the middle. Oh well.

I gave my Mother and Auntie a bunch of frozen meals. They are excited.

Christmas listening to the Muppets Christmas this AM and then off to my Dad's later before hosting the Outlaws. Woof.
