Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Feels like 64 in mine. We keep the thermostat low in our house,

I'm in a townhouse, a middle unit, so I have minimums I must maintain. I got in trouble a few years ago because someone figured out that my gas/electric bills weren't as high as some neighbors. I kept my thermostat at 63 back then, which was for the comfort, and I was told that I had to raise that up a bit. It turns out that I was siphoning off the heat from my neighbors, who were both around 75.

Not your fault that you prefer a cool house!

Grrrr. The storm which was supposed to start mid-morning Thursday and go into Friday is now starting on Wednesday night. I fly Thursday morning. I have a car service picking me up at 4:30am. I better not have any delays. Usually these storms start later than predicted. Why is this one starting earlier?????

Chilly here today. And I'm starting to get a headache. I do not want to do anything, let alone go out, today.

It was just easier to find a compromise with my neighbors than to fight it. I turned up my 'stat 5 degress, and they turned their's down a couple/few degrees. The heating costs for me haven't changed significantly, and arguing with people that old isn't going to get me anywhere. I'm just the young whippersnapper and they know everything.

I'm writing up my annual performance reivew, will have it done in a short while. Does that mean I wrote a selfie instead of took a selfie?

heh. He is going to UML. Really wanted him to look at other places but he grew up with it and really doesn't want to go anywhere else. Would have been a real problem if they told him he couldn't run there. I think he would have lost his mind.

Speaking of, I really ought to ask the coach something one day. I know UML rostered a track athlete who I was in scouts with, who I saw at midnight mass in a wheel chair, and heard he has had serious leg issues via disease. I really wondered what that was all about.

---

Though go be honest, yeah, I'd think he'd have problems going anywhere else... Been prepped allhis life to go to lowell.

Still would have thought reality may have bent his way for d2 or d3

Good luck Scarlet! Hope the weather clears for your airport drive and flight.

You deserve a good day. If not, you at least deserve a cookie and/or a martini.

Wow. Just an incredible day at Comerica for the alumni games. Will never see that caliber of roster for both teams together again, most likely. Was a bit on the cold side though with the wind. Still kind if cold now, almost 4 hours later.

Popping a couple advil PM's and falling asleep early. Off to Ann Arbor bright and early for a pre-game open bar/buffet at the field house beforehand, then to the big house for the big game!!

Side note: very quickly reminded myself why I moved to Florida today. Y'all can have the cold and wind and nonsense. I'll take 90 and humid over this any day. Confirmed.

Did it look like there was 33,000 people there?

Not knowing how much Comerica can hold, and being too lazy to look it up, it was pretty darn filled up. Outfield was pretty empty, and the upper third of the 300's weren't filled, but the field level was significantly more full than I expected.

We were supposed to be behind the Wings net, 8 rows off the field. But with the photographers and whatnot, you couldn't see much. So we moved almost directly up to the 300's and it was a great view. Used the jumbotron for some of the action, but you could really follow play pretty easily.

Happy new year everybody.
