Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Nope. I called Dish. The first two idiots I spoke to had no clue. The third asked me to hold (Game magically appeared on the FSN Plus channel). Rep came back on the phone and said "how's that?" The FSN Plus switch must have been off and was switched to on for the g household..........

Speedo power. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

On the way home from work today they had him on a radio station from cityslickerville (WCCO 830 am). He mentioned that he was there with some other staff watching another staff member run. He stated that it was (and rightfully so) an absolute zoo.

One of the program director's (IIRC, that's his title) at KFAN's fiancee finished the marathon about 20 minutes before the blast. They had her on....quite moving. I was choking up hearing the emotion in her voice. *ing scary.

Son (YE for those of you on GPL) just texted me, one of his best friends from HS goes to BC & was a ~half-mile from the finnish line when the bomb blew and he's ok but really shook up.

Jesus. Good to hear, man.

I'm still wavering between sad mode and rage mode. It's a bit of both right now.

Good Morning Lodge. Happy Patriot's Day! Off from work today as the end of the marathon is a block from my office and all the streets are closed. Perfect timing as I need a day to decompress after the trip, to unpack and do laundry, etc.

My cousin is running the marathon today, running to raise money for the Travis Roy Foundation. Hope he does well. He asked me to go to a viewing party at Travis' place, which is close to the end of the race. Maybe I'll go in later. Probably not.

Reading this now scares me. Thankful you're safe.

Went to the Twins game tonight. Cheap tickets 14 rows up on the third base side. Was a bit chilly, but fun. Saw a good performance surprisingly.

Justin Gaard is the producer for Barreiro. IIRC, he tweeted pretty soon afterwards that she finished earlier and they were both OK. Scarlet was the only person I knew that might have been in the area, otherwise it was just family and friends of friends...all of which were unaffected (physically...I'm sure they were all understandably shook up a bit).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Howdy. Glad to read that all of you didn't know anybody directly affected by the bombings. I'll second mavsy in saying my first thought when I heard about it was if Scarlet decided to venture down that way.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Morning Lodge. Glad to hear all Lodgers and their families/friends were not injured. Waiting to hear back on one guy I know who has run Boston a few times. He would have been finished well ahead of the blast if he ran a normal time for him.
